Wednesday Racing Tips - 13th June
Our expert has scoured Sydney and Melbourne for a stack of tips today and has come up with a few doozies!
Sydney tracks are still in the Heavy range so punters should do their wet track form for the Warwick Farm card today. We have done exactly that and come up with four great selections but our best bet isn’t among those – you’ll have to go to Sandown to find that one!
Warwick Farm is a Heavy 8 with the rail in the true position.
Sandown (Lakeside) is racing on a Good 4 with the rail out 7m the entire circuit.
Race 1 (Warwick Farm) – 12:50pm TAB Rewards Plate 1100m
Resuming from a spell, SPARKLY STAR has had the benefit of two trial wins so we are expecting a bold showing from this Gerald Ryan-trained gelding in the opening event on the program. Drawn to get the run of the race and will be very competitive. Big chance.
Race 2 (Sandown) – 1:00pm Sheen Group Handicap 1400m
Out of the astute D Weir stable, MOUNT KILCOY (BEST BET) looks perfectly placed to break through here today. Looked a touch unlucky on debut when held up at a vital stage before coming home hard to be beaten by half a length by the handy Duality. Looks perfectly placed to atone for that narrow defeat and looks a good thing at Sandown today.
Race 3 (Sandown) – 1:35pm Mypunter.com Handicap 1600m
Lightly raced filly ABINGER has been ultra-consistent at her past couple of starts and looks well placed here today after drawing gate six. Go on her victory at Sale two starts back when coming home hard despite a three-wide run to win by a neck. Will look to have the last shot them in the straight. Key player.
Race 3 (Warwick Farm) – 2:00pm Spring On Sale Sprint 1200m
TSWALU is first-up but looks primed for a big effort after drawing the inside barrier and is sure to be in this for a long way. Has won on the track and has a good record over the distance. Looks well placed and looks a serious chance here today. Has form around Prompt Response which is easily good enough to win this.
Race 4 (Sandown) – 2:10pm Ladbrokes Back Yourself Handicap 2400m
HANG MAN (NEXT BEST) hasn’t had a great deal of racing but has shown enough to suggest he will be going back-to-back in this race. He dominated his rivals at Bendigo last start, coming very wide rounding the bend but cruised away to an impressive 2.3 length victory. Has the form and looks the main danger in this very winnable event. Big show expected.
Race 4 (Warwick Farm) – 2:35pm Pluck@Vinery Handicap 1200m
Leading and giving his rivals a galloping lesson at Wyong last start, *SCRATCHED* AMERICANA MAGIC is the one they need to beat here today. Was specked at the eachway odds last start and ran right up to the support. Has Brenton Avdulla again here today and from barrier four is set to run another huge race. The one to beat.
Race 5 (Sandown) – 2:45pm Polytrack Handicap 1000m
FLASH CASH will strip fitter and can atone for his defeat at Sale last start when facing the breeze for most of the trip to be only beaten by 3.1 lengths. Go on his narrow victory two starts back at Pakenham when coming home hard from a midfield position. Well placed.
Race 7 (Sandown) – 3:55pm Moorookyle Park Handicap 1400m
Just going down at Geelong three weeks ago when resuming, MISS ADEQUATE will strip fitter second-up here today over a distance this filly has placed over numerous times previously. Did race in a handy event at Flemington back in February when beaten by 1.7 lengths by the very good Spanish Reef. Will look to lead and be hard to run down. Rates well.
Race 7 (Warwick Farm) – 4:20pm TAB Handicap 1300m
SEAHAMPTON is resuming from a break but going on her victory back in December she looks hard to go past in the final event of the program here today. Settled near last and got the split in the final 200m to run away to an impressive win at Newcastle before going to the paddock. Had a soft trial leading into this and looks hard to go past in the final event of the program at Warwick Farm here today.
