Rosehill Racing Preview & Tips - Saturday 16th June

A nice nine-race card and thankfully we aren’t betting on a Heavy track today.

Fri, 15 Jun, 6:00 AM

We’ve gone early with our pick of the bunch at Rosehill today. Races one and two are our best of the day and although the price isn’t spectacular, maybe throw them into a double and get a bit of extra fat out of the collect!

Looks as though we are racing on a Soft 6 at Rosehill with the rail in the true position.

QUADDIE PICKS ( 6-7-8-9):

1,4,5,7 2,6,7,9 5,7,11,15 3,9,11,18

Race 1 – 11:25am Australian Turf Club Handicap 1400m

Unbeaten after two career starts to date, RONSTAR (BEST BET) looks perfectly placed to make it three on the trot in the opening event of the program here today. Drawn to lead once again, like he has twice previously, and is a very hard horse to pass as he keeps kicking in the straight. The one to beat.

1st: No1 RONSTAR 2nd:  No5 Toulouse; 3rd: No4 Pedicel 4th: No3 Silent Explorer

Race 2 – 12:00pm Ascot Restaurant Sale Handicap 1400m

GRESHAM (NEXT BEST) is ultra-consistent and ready to rack up the hat-trick of victories after two impressive victories. Led and proved too smart for his rivals running away to a dominant 2.2 length victory on this track a fortnight ago. Won by over four lengths at Canterbury prior to that. Horse that came second last start (Chalmers) was crunched at Warwick Farm during the week and landed the money. Key player.

1st: No1 GRESHAM 2nd:  No8 Sweet Victory; 3rd: No12 Nicci’s Gold; 4th: No14 Touch Of Mink

Race 3 – 12.35pm TAB Highway Handicap 1500m

Another galloper looking to make it three on the trot is RADIANT CHOICE and will be very competitive in this grade here today. Led and just held on to win by a length at this track last start after leading throughout. Takes on stronger opposition but winning form is good form. The one to beat.

1st: No1 RADIANT CHOICE 2nd:  No8 Valree; 3rd: No10 My Blue Jeans; 4th: No7 Mister Smartee

Race 4 – 1.10pm #ATTHERACES Handicap 1500m

Despite the wide draw LA CHICA BELLA is racing in great form of late and sure to be very competitive here. Settled in behind the leaders last start before finding the line nicely when third to Princess Posh and Magic Alibi. Has a good record over the distance and has placed twice on the track. Looks well placed, likes the Soft conditions and is set to be a major player here.

1st: No3 LA CHICA BELLA 2nd:  No7 I Am Awesome; 3rd: No4 Queen Misty; 4th: No2 So Splendid

Race 5 – 1.45pm Winter Racing Handicap 1800m

VAULCUSE BAY will strip fitter third-up and looks to have found the right race to bounce back into the winner’s circle. Settled near the rear before coming home strong to be beaten by 2.2 lengths at Randwick last start behind Bastia. Will be rock hard fit and sure to be very competitive in this grade. Will be the one coming home strong. Rates well.

1st: No1 VAUCLUSE BAY 2nd: No11 Kurnel Jaxon; 3rd: No5 Chatelard; 4th: No4 Intueri

Race 6 – 2.25pm Kensei Handicap 2000m

It was hard not to see the run of BLACK ON GOLD last start. Looked good when hitting the line hard from well back against the bias to be beaten a length by Dagny over 1800m. Has drawn the rail but we expect this gelding to settle near the rear and be saved for one big crack at them in the straight. Has a good record over the track/distance. Big chance.

1st: No5 BLACK ON GOLD 2nd:  No4 Nurse Kitchen; 3rd: No7 Dagny; 4th: No1 Calderon

Race 7 – 3.05pm Rosehill Bowling Club Handicap 1400m

Resuming from a spell, FLOW has trialed well leading into this and sure to be in the finish first-up here today. Raced in some handy races last preparation before going to the paddock for a well-deserved rest. Has drawn a tad wide so look for him to cross the field when the gates open and take a forward position. Will be in this for a long way. Winning hope.

1st: No9 FLOW 2nd:  No7 New Universe; 3rd: No2 Invinzabeel; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No6 Liapari

Race 8 – 3:45pm Half Yearly Membership Sprint 1100m

Resuming from a break but has had the benefit of two trials leading into his return here today, REDOUBLE is worth the gamble. Has a great first-up record, excels over the track and distance and sure to be in this for a long way. Has won twice on the track and can make it win number three here. Won both trials leading into the race and beat Prompt Response and Samadoubt – that is good enough to win this.

1st: No7 REDOUBLE 2nd:  No14 Albumin; 3rd: No11 Malahat; 4th: No5 Best Guess

Race 9 – 4:25pm Sydney’s West App Handicap 1300m

Drawn to get the run of the race, THE AVENGER looks well placed to take out the final event of the program here today. Has a superb record over the distance winning four from eight attempts and will strip fitter second-up. Won when resuming at Canterbury when drifting in the market. Ready to fire.

1st: No3 THE AVENGER 2nd:  No11 All From Scrap; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No18 Sharpness; 4th: No9 Shock Alert
