We have attacked three meetings today across the country and settled on races from Sydney and Melbourne primarily with one from Queensland too. Our best bet arrives in the third event of the day at Canterbury and looks destined for bigger and better things.
Canterbury is racing on a Soft 6 with the rail out 8m the entire circuit.
Echuca is racing on a Soft 7 with the rail in the true position the entire circuit.
Ipswich will be on a Good 4 with the rail in the true position.
Lightly raced mare METIS could be ready to fire first-up here today. Has had the benefit of two trials leading into this and drawn to get the run of the race. Has led in every single one of its races so far and that shouldn’t be any different here. Looks perfectly placed to break through. Sticking with her.
Named after a Swedish soccer player, this I Am Invincible colt *SCRATCHED* LJUNGBERG looks ready to strike here today and does look hard to beat. Fought back after being headed when going down narrowly on this track a fortnight ago. Will strip fitter and with a good gate he will be in this for a long way. Big chance.
Lightly raced, SEASONS (BEST BET) looks a filly to keep an eye on for bigger things to come. Looked impressive when bounding away to a dominant 1.5 length victory at Warwick Farm last start and can go on with it now and make it successive victories. Has placed twice over the distance and looks the one they all need to beat here today. Big show expected.
Despite the wide draw, Street Boss gelding *SCRATCHED* STREET SHEIK looks perfectly placed to bounce back into the winners circle here today. Beaten by half a length at Swan Hill last start when travelling wide throughout so the run was full of merit. They backed him for a stack in that race and it may pay to follow the money. Looks well placed and hard to go past.
RAPTARUN looked impressive at her debut when proving too slick for her rivals and can make it successive victories to kick start her racing career. Out of the astute Darren Weir stable, this filly will strip fitter and be ready to make a big impression in a very winnable race. The daughter of Teofilo handled the Heavy surface last start so the Slow conditions here look to suit. The likely winner.
Resuming from a break, SHALWA showed promise last preparation in tougher races to be a key player here today. Drawn to get the run of the race and looks extremely hard to go past. Finished fourth to Peruggia last start at Moonee Valley on February 9 with the runner-up, Valiant Spirit, going on to win the Group Two Autumn Classic beating the very good Astoria and Mr So And So. Should be too smart for this field.
Drawn a tad wide, KING TOMLOLA has serious early speed and will look to cross the field once the gates crash back. Led and proved too good for his rivals when winning by 2.5 lengths at Hawkesbury a fortnight ago and will be the one they all need to run down. Has won his past three by a combined margin of seven lengths. Key player.
*SCRATCHED* INQUIRY hasn’t had a great deal of racing but has shown ability in his runs to date. Out of the astute Godolphin stable, he looks perfectly placed to take out the final event of the program here today. Beaten by half a length at Warwick Farm last start but going on his two length victory at Hawkesbury prior to that, he is in this with a huge chance. Looks well placed to bounce back into the winners circle. Sticking with him.
*SCRATCHED* KABROCCO is a track specialist who looks well placed to take out the final event of the program here today. Resumed with an encouraging effort when beaten by 3.5 lengths at Swan Hill and will strip fitter second-up. Has won at his only start on the track and distance and is a winner previously at this stage of his prep. Rates well.
