The final Group One of the season is being staged here at Doomben and whichever horse manages to salute, you are definitely going to get value for it. In what is a fairly wide open affair, we are banking on Prompt Response to get the verdict and break her Group One maiden status.
Doomben is a Good 4 with the rail out 3.5m the entire circuit.
QUADDIE PICKS ( 6-7-8-9):

BARE NAKED LADY could hardly have been more impressive last time out and is good enough to double up here. The Tracey Bartley runner had to sit wide for the majority of the Inglis Challenge on May 11 but simply toyed with her rivals at the finish. Goes up an extra 100m on that assignment and is perfectly drawn in gate two.
1st: No2 BARE NAKED LADY 2nd: No8 Malahide; 3rd: No7 Red Stina; 4th: No5 Gracida
No value around GRANNY RED SHOES but it is definitely the one to beat. Won at Listed level last time out at the Sunshine Coast and has form around the likes of Eawase and Outback Barbie. Will be too good for these.
1st: No4 GRANNY RED SHOES 2nd: No6 Light Up The Room; 3rd: No2 Spending My Time; 4th: No1 Soaring Heart
Hardest race of the day to pick but we have settled on STELLAR KNIGHT. The gelding settled well back in the field last start and made up steady ground when seventh to Executed. Has a strong record at the distance and is drawn nicely in barrier two so is sure to be a lot closer than last time.
1st: No4 STELLAR KNIGHT 2nd: No17 Bush Caviar; 3rd: No3 Masons Chance; 4th: No1 Fabs Cowboy
One of the better bets of the day is NO ANNAMOSSITY (NEXT BEST). The Rob Heathcoate-trained runner was ultra impressive in winning at this track on May 19 when taking inside runs and is the one to beat again here. Gets Boris Thornton’s 3kg claim and is drawn to be prominent throughout.
1st: No4 NO ANNAMOSSITY 2nd: No13 Inspired Estelle; 3rd: No12 Foxy Housewife; 4th: No10 Mr Markou
THE BOSTONIAN was too strong for his rivals in Listed company last time out and is the one to beat again here. The Kiwi started at $12 but was too good in the Daybreak Lover and can go back-to-back in Australia. From barrier 15, jockey Michael Cahill could possibly push forward once again and be there at the pointy end of things.
1st: No1 THE BOSTONIAN 2nd: No5 Tokoriki Lad; 3rd: No3 Trommelschlagen; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No2 Shogun Sun
Hard to go past TRADESMAN but the only query is whether last week’s huge win in the Ipswich Cup has flattened him. The Darren Weir runner was three-wide the whole race and still managed to nose out First Crush at the finish. If he isn’t flat after that performance seven days ago, he wins again.
1st: No2 TRADESMAN 2nd: No4 Anton En Avant; 3rd: No8 Divine Unicorn; 4th: No5 Coldstone
How can we not tip HOPFGARTEN again after he did the job for us last time out? The seven-year-old saluted at $21 a fortnight back in the Wayne Wilson and comes up against some of his rivals from that day again. Has drawn nine and is likely to get back in the field but if there is speed on, he will be coming home hard again. Value.
1st: No1 HOPFGARTEN 2nd: No2 Ulmann; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No10 Jamaican Rain; 4th: No6 Sheiswhatsheis
Sticking with PROMPT RESPONSE (BEST BET) in what is a very wide race. The Waterhouse & Bott runner was sensational first-up, doing a stack of work out wide in the Dane Ripper before being nabbed right on the line by Invincibella. Is drawn three with Blake Shinn aboard and should be in the firing line from the outset. Will definitely be fitter for this and Bott indicated she wasn’t ready first-up. Can win!
1st: No4 PROMPT RESPONSE 2nd: No1 Invincibella; 3rd: No15 Champagne Cuddles; 4th: No6 Shillelagh
What a difficult race to end the day. BASSETT has been thereabouts of late and always runs an honest race so is definitely worth a ticket in this. Will get a nice run from gate two and Michael Dee should have him in a close enough position rounding the home turn. Bassett wound up fourth to Im A Rippa in the Eye Liner last start and faded slightly over the concluding stages, however, back to 1200m here definitely looks more to his liking. Eachway all day!
1st: No2 BASSETT 2nd: No14 Sony Legend; 3rd: No5 Spright; 4th: No9 Tumbler
