Monday Racing Tips - 16th July
There’s some great racing across the country today and we have identified a few nice horses at Cessnock and Moruya that look to have great chances in their respective events.
Cessnock is where we find our top selection today. White Boots is looking to make up for an unlucky performance last time out in a race today that looks right up its alley.
Cessnock is racing on a Firm 2 with the rail +3.5m,950m-250m, True remainder.
Moruya is a Good 4 with the rail out 3m 1000m to 350m then cutaway.
Cessnock Race 2 - 1:40PM BIDFOOD NEWCASTLE MAIDEN PLATE (1570 METRES)
No1 ANOTHER SONETTE
Sticking with topweight ANOTHER SONETTE to break through in this very winnable event he faces here today. Forget it went around last start when it was planted three-wide the trip and go on his third two starts back at Muswellbrook. Will be fit and ready to fire. Give another chance
1st: No1 ANOTHER SONETTE; 2nd: No10 Lexiloo; 3rd: No6 Red Brocade; 4th: No3 If by Chance
Cessnock Race 3 - 2:15PM ADVANCED PEST CONTROL CLASS 2 HANDICAP (1570 METRES)
No1 WHITE BOOTS (BEST BET)
Lightly raced gelding WHITE BOOTS was unlucky last start on this track and can atone for that defeat here today. Drawn to get the run of the race and will be the one coming home strong. Found the line nicely last time out despite coming through along the inside that didn’t appear to be the place to be. Winning hope and today’s top pick.
1st: No1 WHITE BOOTS; 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No2 Arrows Destiny; 3rd: No6 Serious Dancer; 4th: No9 Luck Starlett
Moruya Race 4 - 2:35PM STONEFISH WINES CLASS 2 HANDICAP (SCALED - 0.5KG) (1210 METRES)
No5 NOT BOSSY
NOT BOSSY will strip fitter second-up and looks perfectly placed to bounce back into the winner’s circle here today. Looked a touch unlucky when getting too far back before storming home to be beaten by a length on this track a fortnight ago. Looks hard to beat and will be the one flashing at them late.
1st: No5 NOT BOSSY; 2nd: No2 Running Broke; 3rd: No8 Fantasy Belle; 4th: No4 Chatober
Cessnock Race 5 - 3:25PM RARITY WHOLESALE BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP (1350 METRES)
No5 HIGH RUSH
Drawn to get the run of the race, HIGH RUSH looks well placed to go one better than her defeat at Muswellbrook last start. Will strip fitter second-up and looks a class above his rivals here today. Should be in front or near enough to the lead. Big danger.
1st: No5 HIGH RUSH; 2nd: No1 Storm Master; 3rd: No3 Silent Dream; 4th: No9 Falsified
Cessnock Race 7 - 4:40PM EAST CESSNOCK BOWLING CLUB BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP (1150 METRES)
*SCRATCHED* No4 RETRIBUTION (NEXT BEST BET)
Lightly raced gelding RETRIBUTION looks a serious chance in the final event on the program here today. This lightly raced galloper is resuming from a spell but did win a trial on this track leading into his return. Will be fit and ready to fire first-up. Key player.
1st: *SCRATCHED* No4 RETRIBUTION; 2nd: No1 Sister Joy; 3rd: No11 Lana’s Magic; 4th: No8 Rubel
