Hawkesbury and Grafton are where we find our top selections today with our pick of the bunch looking to atone for its last start narrow defeat in today’s very winnable event.
Hawkesbury is racing on a Good 4 with the rail True.
Grafton is a Good 4 with the rail True.
Sticking with the Snitzel gelding AGGARWAL to break through after a solid first-up effort at Mudgee a fortnight ago. Raced on the speed and carried a big weight before finishing third, conceding 3kgs to the winner. Will strip fitter and looks to have found a very winnable race here today. The one to beat.
1st: No6 AGGARWAL; 2nd: No3 Street Rogue; 3rd: No8 Our Celtic Star; 4th: No7 Brown Thomas
No.1 FERTILE SOIL (BEST BET)
The Bjorn Baker filly FERTILE SOIL looked a touch unlucky at Mudgee last start and can atone for that defeat here today. Has placed over the distance and will be the one coming home strong. If our previous tip in Aggarwal performs well, it gives us more of a reason to load up on this one as she comes out of the same race last start. Key player.
1st: No1 FERTILE SOIL; 2nd: No7 Sweetest Eyes; 3rd: No4 Meale; 4th: No8 Rebecca’s Quest
ACRAMAN was narrowly beaten on this track last start and looks perfectly placed to atone for that narrow defeat and finally break through here today. Has placed over the track and distance and will be the one coming home strong late. Has been knocking on the door with three straight placings so is due for a win. Big danger.
1st: No1 ACRAMAN; 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No5 Clearfield; 3rd: No2 Steven; 4th: No6 Final Honour
No.5 PAINTED WALL
PAINTED WALL is a lightly raced gelding on the rise. Looked good when resuming from a spell on this track a fortnight ago going down by half a length when coming home strong. Will strip fitter and has won second-up in the past. Hard to go past.
1st: No5 PAINTED WALL; 2nd: No1 Clifton County; 3rd: No2 Kathaire; 4th No4 Zidane
No.1 KING TOMLOLA
KING TOMOLA looks a serious chance despite the wide draw and will be in this for a long way in the final event of the program. Looked good when beaten by 1.7 lengths at Canterbury last start behind Coonawarra, with that form franked as the winner went on to score at Rosehill next time out. Prior to that, King Tomlola won three straight. Has to carry 62kgs but has the class to overcome that. Serious chance.
1st: No1 KING TOMLOLA; 2nd: No4 Gravitate; 3rd: No7 Lifeline Princess; 4th: No13 Ticked
