Thursday Racing Tips - 26th July

As we approach the weekend, we have a good day of racing at Kembla and Cranbourne and have identified a few gallopers looking to make a statement here today.

Wed, 25 Jul, 12:00 AM

Looks like a good day for the gallopers in form as we trek to Cranbourne and Kembla for today’s selections. Our top pick was nailed on the line last start and shapes as a main contender going on his last start defeat.

Kembla is racing on a Good 3 with the rail +9m 1100m to WP, +6m Remainder

Cranbourne is racing on a Soft 5 with the rail Out 4m Entire Circuit.

Kembla Race 1 - 12:30PM Balgownie Benchmark 66 Handicap (2000M)

CORITH was nailed on the line at Gosford last start and looks well-placed to take out the opening event of the program here today. Drawn well and looks primed to atone for his narrow defeat last start. Looks the winner.

1st: No3 CORINTH; 2nd: No1 Fireman Sam I Am; 3rd: No2 Lifeline Princess; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No5 Victory Anthem

Cranbourne Race 8 - 3:30PM Procon Developments BM70 Handicap (2025M)

Track specialist THE THUG was beaten by 2.7 lengths at Sandown last start but can bounce back into the winner’s circle here today. Won at Mornington back in June when defeating Reticent before a disappointing effort at Sale when well beaten. Drawn to get the run of the race and looks as a big danger.

1st: No4 THE THUG 2nd: No1 King Way; 3rd: No5 Eckhart; 4th: No9 Charcol

Kembla Race 6 - 3:35PM Shell Cove Tavern Benchmark 68 Handicap (1500M)

No14 Belle Du Sud

BELLE DU SUD was beaten by 2.6 lengths by Sweet Scandal at Warwick Farm a fortnight ago and she will strip fitter second-up here today. Has drawn the rail, so expect this mare to jump straight to the front and prove hard to run down. Has won at her only attempt on this track back in January and looks a winning hope.

1st: No14 BELLE DU SUD 2nd: No8 6 Laszlo; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No4 Dorf Star; 4th: No5 Ilwendo

Cranbourne Race 9 - 4:00PM TAB Multiplier BM64 Handicap (1200M)

No1 Parwan Prince (NEXT BEST BET)

Top weight PARWAN PRINCE looks well-placed to atone for his narrow defeat to Kyzamba on this track here today. Won by 3.2 lengths at Sale two starts back before going to the paddock for a month layoff. Will strip fitter second-up, has drawn to get the run of the race and will be ready to produce a huge effort over a distance he has tasted success over. The one to beat.

1st: No1 PARWAN PRINCE; 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No3 Nic Nac; 3rd: No6 Jersey Whistler; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No10 Patient

Kembla Race 8 - 4:45PM Russell Vale Maiden Handicap (1300M)

Despite drawing wide, lightly-raced ART OF MORE looks well-placed to take out the final event of the program here today. Looked the winner but only to be run down on the line last start beaten by Single Story. Look for him to strip fitter second-up from a spell here today. Down in weights, looks a key player.

1st: No2 ART OF MORE 2nd: No4 Apricot; 3rd: No5 Dusktilldawn; 4th: No1 Road To Bordeaux
