Sandown takes centre stage with today’s Grand National over the 4200m marathon. Our top selections come out of Muswellbrook and will be ready to make a statement in their respective events.

Muswellbrook is racing on a Good 4 with the rail True.

Sandown Lakeside is a Good 4 with the rail Out 9 meters Entire Course.

Muswellbrook Race 1 - 12:55pm Muswellbrook Coal Company 3yo Maiden Handicap (1000 Metres)

Looks a perfect race for the Bjorn Baker-trained CELOSIA (NEXT BEST BET) to breakthrough here today. Narrowly beaten by Sanglier on debut back in March before going to the paddock for a break. Has won both of her trials leading into her return and looks the one they all will need to beat in the opening event of the program here today. Key player.

1st: No8 CELOSIA 2nd: No6 What a Cracker; 3rd: No10 Constanzia; 4th: No3 Mr Wong

Sandown Race 5 - 2:20pm Grand National Hurdle (4200 Metres)

Looks a perfect race for the ever consistent and reliable SELF SENCE to take out the 2018 Grand National Hurdle here today. Proved way too good for his rivals when winning by 1.3 lengths at Caulfield last start defeating Sasko. Won over the hurdles back in July and looks like the extra distance won’t be an issue. Hard to beat.

1st: No1 SELF SENSE 2nd: No2 Two Hats; 3rd: No4 Bit of a Lad; 4th: No7 Sir Lopez

Muswellbrook Race 5 - 3:35pm Wear Parts Services Class 1 Handicap (Scaled -1.5kg) (1280 Metres

Hard to go past *SCRATCHED* ONTHETAKE (BEST BET) back in this class after a good effort when resuming from a spell. Settled near the rear before chasing hard in the straight to be narrowly beaten by Osorno at Warwick Farm a fortnight ago. Will settle just behind the tempo and be storming home late. Looks a clear top pick, the one to beat.

1st: *SCRATCHED* No6 ONTHETAKE 2nd: No9 The Kiss; 3rd: No2 Panda’s Mr Nosey; 4th: No5 Ratler

Muswellbrook Race 7 - 4:45pm Pumps And Pipeline Services Class 1 Handicap (Scaled - 1.5kg) (1000 Metres)

Kris Lee-trained gelding HEREDERO looked impressive when defeating Beep Beep by 1.4 lengths at Scone last start and is sure to be very competitive in the final event of the program here today. Has form behind Sunfighter and Sunreel and will be looking to make it successive victories here today. Big show expected.

1st: No6 HEREDERO 2nd: No4 The Gun; 3rd: No10 Not in the Nick; 4th: No5 Flash Stinger

Sandown Race 9 - 4:50PM Ladbrokes Protest Payout Handicap (1600 METRES)

Sticking with the Darren Weir-trained ACCREDITATION who was very unlucky when narrowly beaten by Snipfit on this track last start and will be looking to atone for that narrow defeat in the final event of the program here today. Will settle near the rear and be saved for one big crack at them in the straight. Watch out for his good turn of foot, will be flying home.

1st: No2 ACCREDITATION 2nd: No6 Paradise Cove; 3rd: No5 Mitrust; 4th: No7 River Goddess
