The first day of spring has produced a great card of racing at Randwick and we have all the early moves for the three Group Twos on the program as well as the Group Three Concorde Stakes.
Firstly, Pierata has been the subject of big money ever since the market went into final field for the Tramway Stakes. TAB reports that the Gregory Hickman runner has gone $4* into $3.30* since Wednesday and is easily the most popular runner in terms of money taken. Such has been the support for Pierata that he has replaced Le Romain ($3.70*) as favourite.
The Chelmsford Stakes is a bit more open with moves for a few runners including Cabeza De Vaca ($12-$8*) and the favourite Unforgotten ($3.80*) while there has been some interest at Mr Moonlight Magic ($9*) at the price.
In the other Group Two, Pure Elation ($6-$5*) has been attracting support but it’s the boom filly Miss Fabulass that commands favouritism at $3.50* following her resumption in midweek company at Canterbury on August 15.
Finally, the Concorde Stakes is a mini TAB Everest lead-up as two horses already in the race go head-to-head.
Defending Everest champion Redzel is odds-on ($1.70*) to resume on a high and in seven attempts, he has won three times and placed a further three times at this stage of his preparation. Invincible Star ($2.40*) is the only other horse in single figures and has a 4kg advantage over his rival.
