Tuesday Racing Tips - 4th September
Newcastle and Bairnsdale are the meetings our selections will be competing at today and they appear to be well placed.
We are confident we have identified a few serious hopes at Newcastle and Bairnsdale today. Our top pick is lightly raced and is out of the astute C Waller stable and primed for a huge effort with K McEvoy in the saddle.
Newcastle is racing on Good 4 with the rail +10M Entire.
Bairnsdale is racing on soft 5 with the rail True.
Newcastle Race 1 - 12:50PM Tew Property Consultants Class 1 & Maiden Plate (2360 Metres)
Last start winner IRON DUKE looks perfectly to make it successive victories after proving too slick for his rivals last start. Led and kicked to a dominant four length victory on this track a fortnight back and looks to be a major player once again. Has the form and will be hard to run down once again. Serious chance.
1st: No4 IRON DUKE 2nd: No2 Dad’s Boy; 3rd: No5 Star Bid 4th: No6 Only You
Newcastle Race 3 - 2:05PM The Albion Hotel Wickham Maiden Handicap (1600 Metres)
GIVEN TIME (BEST BET) is out the astute Chris Waller stable and looks well placed to break through here today. Chased hard but found one too good on the day when resuming with a gutsy length defeat behind Homework two weeks ago when well supported late in betting. Will strip fitter second-up and McEvoy is a major plus. Stick with him.
1st: No1 GIVEN TIME 2nd: No3 Wild Impact; 3rd: No4 Holy Reign; 4th: No7 Let It Be
Newcastle Race 5 - 3:15PM McDonalds Singleton F&M Benchmark 64 Handicap (1200 Metres)
Like the way POWER COMMAND found the line at Canterbury behind Our Dasha last start and looks to be a key player second-up here today. Should settle just behind the speed and she will be the one coming home hard in the straight. Has a good turn of foot. Big show expected.
1st: No2 POWER COMMAND 2nd: No1 Ondo Pasa; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No7 Sangita 4th: No8 Grand Theft Auto
Bairnsdale Race 7 - 4:00PM Ladies Day Marquee @ Bairnsdale Cup BM58 Handicap (1000 Metres)
SEGOUIN is a lightly raced mare that looks well placed to atone for her narrow defeat at Pakenham last start. A veteran of just three starts despite being five years old, she chased hard and looked the winner only to be grabbed on the line when beaten by half a length behind Miss Mo last start. Should derive a great deal of benefit from that outing. Winning hope.
1st: No3 SEGOUIN 2nd: No5 Sarcastic; 3rd: No2 Charlie Garcon 4th: No1 Presumptuous
Newcastle Race 8 - 5:05PM Newcastle Hunter Men Of League CG&E Benchmark 64 Handicap (1200 Metres)
Hard to go past the lightly raced JACKS BAR (NEXT BEST BET) in the final event of the program at Newcastle today. Has finished runner-up at is two starts since resuming from a break but sure to be rock hard fit and ready to fire. Can atone his half a length defeat to Lunar Spin on this track three weeks ago when he went around as favourite. Main danger.
1st: No3 JACKS BAR 2nd: No1 Masterati; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No5 Sneaky Fella 4th: *SCRATCHED* No7 Mr Bonjove
