Thursday Racing Tips - 6th September
As we get to the end of the working well there are a few nice horses going around today that we are pretty confident about.
Our expert has scoured the country to find a few winners and has come up with five horses at three different racetracks – Kilcoy, Northam and Echuca. Our best of the day goes around at Northam so punters will have to keep most of their powder dry until then.
Kilcoy is a Good 4 with the rail in the true position.
Northam is racing on a Good 4 with the rail out three metres (1000m-400m) and Cutaway in the straight.
Echuca is racing on a Good 4 with the rail Out 3m 1000m – 400m, True Remainder.
Kilcoy Race 1 - 1:15PM Hedley Gittins Memorial QTIS 3YO Maiden Handicap (800 metres)
This could be the perfect race for this gelding to break his maiden. Having placed at three of his five starts, *SCRATCHED* Bard Of Armagh likes to race on the speed and looks to be one of the likely leaders here. He comes into this off a third at Ipswich when he led and faded slightly in the race won by Lady McCabe. The shorter trip will suit.
1st: *SCRATCHED* No5 BARD OF ARMAGH 2nd: No6 Conquermore; 3rd: No1 Chocolate Oreo; 4th: No2 El Demonio
Echuca Race 3 - 2:30PM EMPD Maiden Plate (1412 metres)
Resuming from a break, *SCRATCHED* ARISTIA will be ready to fire first-up here today. Raced in some handy races last preparation and will appreciate the drop back in this class today. Despite the wide draw, this Ellerton & Zahra filly looks hard to beat. Ready to break through.
1st: *SCRATCHED* No11 ARISTIA 2nd: No8 She Won’t Leave; 3rd: No2 King’s Hand; 4th: No1 Finnick
Northam Race 1 - 3:12PM Gannons Racing Colours Maiden (1100 metres)
TEXAS MOON is a gelding who looks ready to break out of the maiden ranks in this. The Karen Kersley-trained runner has shown ability in 10 starts to date which has yielded five placings. Texas Moon comes into this off a freshen up having finished eighth to Glasgow Girl at this track on June 21, however, he was heavily supported that day and started favourite. May pay to follow here.
1st: No1 TEXAS MOON 2nd: No2 Wise Monkey; 3rd: No 3 Celtic Court; 4th: No6 Big Sister
Northam Race 4 - 4:57PM TAB Touch – Better Your Bet Maiden (1300 metres)
Where there is smoke there is fire and that old punting analogy definitely applies to SPOOKWOOD (BEST BET). Was well backed on debut going $8-$5 at Belmont on August 22 and after settling near the rear, flashed home to run fourth behind Arno The Fox. The extra 100 metres of this race will definitely suit so butter up again on the Cliff Green-trained gelding.
1st: No3 SPOOKWOOD 2nd: No2 Chief Cochise; 3rd: No1 Three Oh Three; 4th: No8 Leading Man
Echuca Race 8 - 5:00PM Independent Cranes BM64 Handicap (1412 metres)
BELLE XAAR (NEXT BEST BET) chased hard to defeat Gargamel by a length at Warracknabeal last start and she looks the one to beat in the final event of the program at Echuca today. Racing in great form, she’s drawn to get the run of the race and make it successive victories. Trainer and jockey have a great strike rate when combining. Ready to win again!
1st: No11 BELLE XAAR 2nd: No10 Sundell; 3rd: No2 Star Silk; 4th: No1 Uncle Tiger
