R8: 1,7,9,11

R9: 2,3,5,6

Moonee Valley Race 1 - 12:30PM Big Swing Golf Handicap (1600 metres)

NAANTALI is racing in great form and can atone for her narrow last start defeat in the opening event of the program at Moonee Valley today. Fought on well but found Miss Siska just a tad too good on the day when beaten by less than a length at Caulfield. Did win at her only attempt on the track when defeating Ma Jones by 1.2 lengths two starts back. Serious chance.

1st: No2 NAANTALI 2nd: No1 Pleasuring; 3rd No4 Sharing; 4th: No8 Seductive Miss

Moonee Valley Race 2 - 1:05PM Horse Gym Australia Handicap (1600 metres)

Tough race but giving THE AVENGER another chance going after finishing in the placings on this track last start. Chased hard but couldn’t reel in the winner Strike Force when beaten by 1.3 lengths a fortnight ago on this tight circuit. Will strip fitter and looks a good hope in a wide open event.

1st: No7 THE AVENGER 2nd: No2 Snitzepeg; 3rd: No8 Wayanka; 4th: No10 Royal Ace

TRAP FOR FOOLS is racing in great form of late and looks perfectly placed to make it successive victories here today. Looked impressive when defeating Our Venice Beach by 2.3 lengths on this track last start. Has the form and will be very competitive once again. Key player.

1st: No2 TRAP FOR FOOLS 2nd: No1 Pacodali; 3rd: No5 Yogi; 4th: No7 Harrison

Moonee Valley Race 5 - 2:50PM Mittys McEwen Stakes (1000 METRES)

Looks hard to go past the flying NATURE STRIP (BEST BET) in today’s Group two over the 1000 meters. This gelding is flying and looks bound to take up one of the last few remaining spots for the Everest in October. Has won his past three and gave nothing else a chance when strolling to an impressive 6 lengths victory at Morphettville last start. Has a serious motor!

1st: No2 NATURE STRIP 2nd: No1 Viridine; 3rd: No5 Shoals, 4th: No6 Houtzen

ANJANA is undefeated and looks perfectly placed to make it four on the trot when she resumes from a spell. Won all her three starts by a combined 10 lengths which includes a three length demolition on this track back in June. Trainer and jockey have a great strike rate when combining. Big show expected.

1st: No7 ANJANA 2nd: No5 Gongs; 3rd: No8 Humma Humma; 4th: No1 Thrillster

Last start runner-up LAND OF PLENTY is out of the astute D Weir stable and looks well placed to atone for his last start defeat here today. Stormed home to be narrowly beaten by Osborne Bulls at Caulfield three weeks back. Did take out a Group Three race in Adelaide back in July. One to keep a watch on. Looks a big danger.

1st: No5 LAND OF PLENTY 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No2 Osborne Bulls; 3rd: No6 Peaceful State; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No8 Bella Martini

The ultra-consistent and reliable HARTNELL just missed when resuming from a spell in the Group Two Lawrence Stakes at Caulfield last start. This champion gelding has a great record over the distance and has placed on the track when finishing behind the one and only Winx in the 2016 Cox Plate. A horse that always does his backers proud. Can win!

1st: No1 HARTNELL 2nd: No7 Night’s Watch; 3rd: No9 Bonneval; 4th: No11 Hiyaam
