Good program with plenty of chances here at Bendigo and it does look like it could be another winning day for the leading trainers. Our top pick is a very consistent racehorse and will be the one to beat going on his recent efforts.
Bendigo is racing on a Good 4 with the rail True.
MICKEY BLUE EYES is resuming from spell here today but has drawn well to be a serious chance in the opening event of the program. Raced against the likes of Graff and The Autumn Sun last preparation and they are on track for the Golden Rose. There doesn’t appear to be any horses of that calibre here. Rates on top.
1st: No8 MICKEY BLUE EYES 2nd: No10 Prince Of Caviar; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No6 Fandral 4th: *SCRATCHED* No4 Brutal Power
Darren Weir-trained HIGH BEAM has drawn to get the run of the race and looks ready to get his maiden victory out of the way here today. Chased hard to be beaten by 1.2 lengths behind I’m Dun Dreaming at Cranbourne last start and will be very competitive in this. This looks a perfect race for her to break through.
1st: No13 HIGH BEAM 2nd: No2 Game Has Changed; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No5 Lord Gladstone; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No6 Mark the Horse
Sticking with ITCHY EARS to bounce back after being narrowly beaten by Indiana Wolf at Geelong last start. Has drawn well and going on her half a length victory two starts back she will be one of the main chances in today’s event. Key player.
1st: No2 ITCHY EARS 2nd: No1 Sizzleme; 3rd: No5 Last Vein 4th: No7 Maximalist
MERCHANT OF VENICE is a Lightly raced gelding that won on debut at Cranbourne a fortnight ago and will be out to make it back-to-back victories to kickstart his racing career. Looked impressive when defeating Sharkbright by 2.2 lengths at his first start and can take the next step up in grade today. Good race with plenty of hopes but sticking with the last start winner to salute again.
1st: No10 MERCHANT OF VENICE 2nd: No13 Union Dues; No6: Begood Toya Mother; 4th: No2 Keyser Soze
Lightly raced gelding MURLESS (NEXT BEST BET) won well at Echuca on debut back in July before finishing in the placing at Sandown back in August. Has had a five-week layoff and has drawn to be on the speed and hard to beat. Big show expected.
1st: No10 MURLESS 2nd: No7 Miss Damita; 3rd: No9 Global Sanction; 4th: No6 Ocean Class
FONTEIN LAD (BEST BET) is an ultra-consistent galloper and looks perfectly placed to bounce back into the winner’s circle after finishing runner-up at his past two starts to date. Has drawn to get the run of the race and can atone for his 1.2 length defeat to Tiffany’s Lass at Mooney Valley a fortnight back. Rates on top.
1st: No4 FONTEIN LAD 2nd: No2 Bling Dynasty; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No8 Mr Sheridan; 4th: No9 Mirimar
Looks a perfect race for PREZADO to atone for his last start defeat to Bandipur at Flemington a month back. Has had a freshen up leading into this and has a superb record over the distance. Beaten by less than a length behind Nature Strip in January and that is good enough to win this. Stick with him.
1st: No3 PREZADO 2nd: No2 Spring Tycoon 3rd: No5 Holy Blade 4th: No7 All About Nicci
BLAZEJOWSKI is racing in good form of late and looks hard to go past in the final event of the program at Bendigo today. Proved too good when defeating Any Given Bender by 1.3 lengths at Moe last start. Has the form and from barrier one does map to be in the first or five turning for home. Tough to beat.
1st: No9 BLAZEJOWSKI 2nd: No6 Black Sail; 3rd: No3 Down; 4th: No7 Elite Tiger
