Sunday Racing Tips - 16th September

We look to finish the weekend on a high with a couple selections well placed to run a big race today.

Sat, 15 Sep, 12:00 AM

Dubbo and Geelong are the meetings our selections come from with our top selection looking to bounce back into the winners circle after being narrowly beaten in town last start.

Dubbo is racing on a Good 4 with the rail True.

Geelong is a Good 3 with the rail Out 6m Entire Circuit.

Dubbo Race 2 - 1:15PM Harpil Hotel Group Country Only Class 2 Showcase Plate (1100 Metres)

Hard to see anything upsetting the consistent BAY OF MODENA who won narrowly last start and will be looking to make it successive victories here today. Led and proved too good when defeating Luxurial by a neck at Wagga a fortnight back. In good form and will be very competitive.

1st: No10 BAY OF MODENA 2nd:  No7 Get To The Chopper; 3rd: No2 Blue Collar Blue 4th: *SCRATCHED* No1 Algeroba

Dubbo Race 3 - 1:50PM Sam’s Liquid Waste and Hire Class 1 Showcase Handicap (1300 Metres)

Sticking with *SCRATCHED* LITTLE BERTIE that’s lightly raced and will strip fitter second-up here today. Chased hard when just missing the placings on this track last start but that was on a Heavy surface. With a Good 4 here and the fact he won previously at Coonamble two starts, back he will be in this for a long way. Well placed, ready to fire.

1st: *SCRATCHED* No5 LITTLE BERTIE 2nd:  No2 The Rouseabout; 3rd: No10 Winterconi; 4th: No1 Bolly

Dubbo Race 5 - 3:00PM XXXX Gold Dubbo Cup Day Showcase Flying Handicap (1100 Metres)

ART D’AMOUR narrowly missed when chasing hard last start and looks to have found the perfect race here today. Found one to good on the day when beaten by less than a length behind Trust Me at Taree in the Lightning on August 19. Has drawn well and will be the one flashing at them late. Big danger.

1st: No3 ART D’AMOUR 2nd:  No2 Kenny Succeed; 3rd: No5 Vinnie Vega; 4th No7 Next Level

Geelong Race 9 - 4:25PM Malua Team Corstens Racing BM78 Handicap (1425 Metres)

Looks a perfect race for HOLBIEN to atone for his narrow defeat at Caulfield last start when beaten by Bryan in the closing stages. Was favourite early in the day on that occasion before drifting out in the market, however, still ran a great race to be beaten by a horse that had specking at odds. Has a great record over the distance and has found the right race here today. Trainer/jockey have a great strike rate when combining. The one to beat, stick with him.

1st: No8 HOLBIEN 2nd:  No4 Mr Gustavo; 3rd: No3 Top Of the Range; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No6 Soul Fire

Dubbo Race 9 - 5:27PM Western Star Hotel Class 3 Showcase Handicap (1600 Metres)

Drawn to get the run of the race, the ultra-consistent ATHONIS is the one to beat in the final event of the program. Beaten by half a length when finishing third at Randwick last start and will be a serious player back in grade here today. Won by 2.9 lengths at Canberra two starts back. Serious player

1st: No1 ATHONIS 2nd:  No3 Shadow Flight; 3rd: No6 Not for Export 4th: No8 Helstar
