Midweek racing returns to Rosehill for a rare but strong meeting that has a few handy gallopers going around. Our best bet was very unlucky last start and will be out to atone that defeat today. Looks well placed.
Rosehill is racing on a Good 4 with the Rail +6m.
Sticking with ENGLAND to atone for his narrow last start defeat in today’s opening event at Rosehill. Chased hard but couldn’t reel in winner Nicco Lad going down by a nose. Drawn to get the run of the race and looks ready to break through. Big danger in this small field.
1st: No2 ENGLAND 2nd: No1 Charm Offensive; 3rd: No3 God Of Thunder; 4th: No5 Heavenly Thunder
MAJOR WAGER won impressively last start and will be out to make it successive victories here today. Stormed home to defeat Patron Black at Canterbury last start. Is very versatile and can race anywhere in the field so don’t be surprised if she finds the front. Looks well placed to run another big race.
1st: No3 MAJOR WAGER 2nd: No5 I’m So Sweet; 3rd: No6 Blevio; 4th: No4 So Taken
Unbeaten GIRL TUESDAY (NEXT BEST BET) looked impressive when winning at Newcastle last start and is out to make it a hat-trick of wins. Rises in class but looks to have a bright future and will prove hard to beat going on her two victories. Watch for her late - she has a big motor.
1st: No1 GIRL TUESDAY 2nd: No2 Miss Shanti; 3rd: No6 Palmateer; 4th: No3 Cambage
SCRATCHES (BEST BET) is an ultra-consistent mare that has drawn well and will be very competitive over a distance she excels over. Chased hard to just miss when narrowly beaten behind Dalmatia Prince at Canterbury a fortnight back. Ran second to the highly talented High Bridge two starts back with that galloper winning again at Warwick Farm last week. Money has been on her in recent times and punters are likely to butter up again. Serious chance.
1st: No5 SCRATCHES 2nd: No1 The Cartoonist; 3rd: No2 Valentino Rossa; 4th: No11 Night Breaker
The Godolphin stable has a big chance to take out today’s event with their talented mare *SCRATCHED* REGIMEN looking to bounce straight into the winner’s circle first-up here today. Has won fresh in the past and did race in some handy events last preparation, knocking heads with the likes of She’s So High, Sedition and Egyptian Bullet. Drops back in class and although carries a bit of weight (60.5kgs), expect ‘The Gun’ (Brenton Avdulla) to get her over the line.
1st: *SCRATCHED* No1 REGIMEN 2nd: No5 Coolotta; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No8 Wooshka; 4th: No11 Pembroke Castle
MAGIC CHOIR finished two lengths behind Wagner at Canterbury a fortnight ago and looks well placed to run a huge race here today. Will settle near the rear and be saved for one big crack at them in the straight. Has a good turn of foot and is a chance in a very open race.
1st: No7 MAGIC CHOIR 2nd: No10 Andaz; 3rd: No8 Volpe; 4th: No3 Omineca
Drawn to get the run of the race, RESIN looks well placed second-up here today. Finished in the placing when narrowly beaten by Soothing on this track a fortnight back and will be out to go a few steps better this time around. Has a good record over the distance and is one-for-one when second-up. Hard to beat.
1st: No4 RESIN 2nd: No2 Za Zi Ba; 3rd: No6 The Pharaoh; 4th: No7 Torpenhow
PIRACY is out of the Godolphin stable and looks well placed to run a huge race in the final event of the program at Rosehill today. Finished two lengths behind the winner Coruscate at Canterbury last start and looks to have found a very winnable race here. The one to beat.
1st: No2 PIRACY 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No3 Americana Magic; 3rd: No5 What Could Be; 4th: No7 Metamorphic
