Saturday Racing Previews & Tips - Randwick 29th September
It’s Super Saturday at Royal Randwick with three Group Ones headlining the card.
Royal Randwick is the venue for today’s super meeting as we have three Group One and two Group Two races on this huge day of racing. Our top pick is a serious filly and has a turn of foot that must be seen to be believed. She will be storming home late and looks very smart.
Randwick is racing on a Soft 5 with the rail +3m Entire.
Randwick Race 1 - 12:25PM Keeneland Gimcrack Stakes (1000 Metres)
Tricky race to start the day with the babies on display for the first time. Sticking with the Peter Snowden-trained SATIN SOCKS to make a big impression on debut after trialing well at Randwick a fortnight back. Looks to have plenty early toe. Danger.
1st: No13 SATIN SOCKS 2nd: No6 Diddles; 3rd: No7 Honey Go Lightly; 4th: No9 Mayaaseh
Randwick Race 2 - 1:05PM Arrowfield Breeders' Plate (1000 Metres)
EXCEED THE STARS has won both trials leading into his debut and is sure to be very competitive here today. Will look to lead and be the one they all need to run down. Has shown ability at the trials and just needs to bring it to the track now. Serious chance.
1st: No6 EXCEED THE STARS 2nd: No5 Dubious; 3rd: No9 King’s Champ; 4th: No10 Krameric
Randwick Race 3 - 1:40PM London Australia Underwriting Dulcify Quality (1600 Metres)
Sticking with last start winner GEM SONG to make it successive victories here today after storming home seven days ago at Rosehill. Settled near the rear before producing a good turn of foot to defeat Royal Celebration by a nose in a tight finish. Looks well placed and will be flashing at them late. Rates well.
1st: No1 GEM SONG 2nd: No4 Madam Rouge; 3rd: No8 Micky Blue Eyes; 4th: No5 Whiteley
Randwick Race 4 - 2:15PM Yulong Australia Hill Stakes (2000 Metres)
EGG TART finished four lengths behind superstar Winx in the Group One George Main Stakes last start and looks ready to break through since her last win four months back. Will relish the extra distance and will be the one coming home hard in the straight. Today’s her day - stick with her.
1st: No10 EGG TART 2nd: No9 Ace High; 3rd: No5 Allergic; 4th: No2 It’s Somewhat
Randwick Race 5 - 2:50PM Santos Coffee Premiere Stakes (1200 Metres)
The sprinting sensation REDZEL looks perfectly placed to take out today’s Group 2 over a distance he has tasted success over four times. The reigning Everest champion is ticking over nicely as he chases back-to-back glory in the world’s richest sprint race coming up in October. Drawn perfectly today and should be winning again.
1st: No1 REDZEL 2nd: No2 Trapeze Artist; 3rd: No3 Santa Ana Lane; 4th: No6 Shoals
Randwick Race 6 - 3:25PM Darley Flight Stakes (1600 Metres)
MISS FABULASS (BEST BET) won with authority last start and looks well placed to make it successive victories in today’s Group One over 1600m. Settled a little worse than midfield before unleashing a good turn of foot in the straight to win by 1.5 lengths untouched in the Tea Rose. Serious filly!
1st: No2 MISS FABULASS 2nd: No3 Fiesta; 3rd: No9 Maid Of Heaven; 4th: No4 Pretty In Pink
Randwick Race 7 - 4:05PM TAB Epsom Handicap (1600 Metres)
D’ARGENTO has drawn to get the run of the race and looks hard to go past in today’s Epsom Handicap over the famous Randwick mile. Chased hard when finishing two lengths behind Home Of The Brave in the Group Two Theo Marks Stakes at Rosehill last start. Has the form and loves racing on this track. Huge effort to finish fourth in the Doncaster back in the autumn. The one to beat.
1st: No3 D’ARGENTO 2nd: No2 Pierata; 3rd: No1 Hartnell; 4th: No7 Unforgotten
Randwick Race 8 - 4:45PM The Heineken 3 Metropolitan (2400 Metres)
HIGH BRIDGE looks a talented gelding that’s won his past two starts and will run out a strong 2400m in today’s Group One. Looked impressive when storming away to a 1.5 length victory defeating Keep It Up at Warwick Farm a fortnight back. Drawn perfectly and will be flashing at them late. Confident will go close.
1st: No16 HIGH BRIDGE 2nd: No12 The Lord Mayor; 3rd: No9 Miss Admiration; 4th: No6 Patrick Erin
Randwick Race 9 - 5:25PM Snitzel Sprint (1200 Metres)
Hard to go past the Gerald Ryan-trained PROBLEM SOLVER that’s resuming from a break but has a great first-up record and sure to be very competitive in the final event. Has had two trials leading into this, winning her latest. Has always had big raps on her. Rates well.
1st: No15 PROBLEM SOLVER 2nd: No12 Nobel Joey; 3rd: No7 Right Or Wrong; 4th: No11 Maximus
