Wednesday Racing Previews & Tips - Bendigo 10th October
The Bendigo card looks fairly wide open which means there should be plenty of value to be found.
Good program with plenty of chances here at Bendigo and it does look like it could be another winning day for the leading trainer Darren Weir as he saddles up a few serious chances. Our top pick ran a huge race behind Written By at Caulfield last start and looks the winner here today going on that effort.
Bendigo is racing on a Good 4 with the rail Out 6m Entire Circuit.
Bendigo Race 1 - 1:00PM Mulqueen Family Funeral Directors Maiden Plate (1300 Metres)
Despite drawing wide, BRUTAL POWER looks hard to go past in the opening event of the program at Bendigo today. Led and kicked around the bend only to be run down in the last 50m finishing half a length behind Tavidance at Ballarat a fortnight back. Looks to have found a very winnable race.
1st: No6 BRUTAL POWER 2nd: No10 Scipio; 3rd: No4 More Than Ever; 4th: No3 Man Alive
Bendigo Race 2 - 1:35PM The Big Screen Company 3YO BM70 Handicap (1100 Metres)
There is a clear top pick here and its FINE DANE (BEST BET) that looks perfectly placed after a strong showing in town last start. Chased hard when finishing half a length behind Written By at Caulfield back in September and with the perfect gate draw he will be in this for a long way. Key player!
1st: No2 FINE DANE 2nd: No5 Turn The Tide; 3rd No3 Okay Boss; 4th: No6 Beauty
Bendigo Race 3 - 2:10PM Bendigo Eye Clinic Maiden Plate (2400 Metres)
Sticking with MADAM STOWELL to break through after finishing runner-up at her past two starts. Fought back tenaciously when beaten by a lip by She’s Deluxe on the synthetic track at Pakenham a fortnight ago. Is today her day? We think so!
1st: No8 MADAM STOWELL 2nd: No10 Reality Show; 3rd: No1 Lord Canford; 4th: No2 Mr Kardashian
Bendigo Race 4 - 2:45PM Bendigo Mazda BM64 Handicap (1600 Metres)
Looks a race in two but sticking with the Darren Weir-trained SUBRAISE who just missed the placings at Caulfield when finishing 1.8 lengths behind the very smart Amphitrite, with that horse winning the Group Two Edward Manifold last Saturday. This colt will be stalking the speed and look for him to be flashing at them late. Big danger.
1st: No8 SUBRAISE 2nd: No6 Silent Roar; No4 Dandre; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No5 Paradise Cove
Bendigo Race 5 - 3:20PM No Fuss Event Hire F&M BM70 Handicap (1600 Metres)
Lightly raced mare ONE MORE TRY won well at Geelong three weeks back and looks poised to make it successive victories here today. Settled in a midfield position before unleashing a good turn of foot to defeat Radiant Rouge by two lengths last start and with the good gate draw, he will very competitive here today. Watch for him storming home late.
1st: No2 ONE MORE TRY 2nd: No1 She’s Beneficial; 3rd: No4 Pamando; 4th: No6 Miss Coolangatta
Bendigo Race 6 - 3:55PM Jayco BM64 Handicap (1400 Metres)
MY MOTHER SAYS has been racing in fine form since resuming from a spell and looks hard to go past here today going on those efforts. Won his two starts at Echuca before finishing in the placings when leading for most of the way at Ballarat last start. Has plenty of early toe and will be the one they all need to run down in the straight. Looks a perfect race for him.
1st: No7 MY MOTHER SAYS 2nd: No2 Royal Order; 3rd: No5 Mercy Street; 4th: No1 Parisfal
Bendigo Race 7 - 4:30PM Surgeons Race BM70 Handicap (2400 Metres)
NOT AN AMBITURNER is a lightly raced gelding that placed at all his three starts to date including a one-length victory at Geelong back in September when defeating The Banana Stand. Will need a bit of luck from the tricky gate but will be in this for a long way if that luck comes. Has shown plenty of fight at all his starts and expect another strong performance from him today. Rates on top.
1st: No9 NOT AN AMBITURNER 2nd: No3 Mr Sheridan; 3rd: No7 Rex Bell; 4th: No4 Tuff Bickie
Bendigo Race 8 – 5:05PM Bet365 BM70 Handicap (1300 Metres)
Open race to close the program but sticking with the Darren Weir-trained INDIAN THUNDER that looks well placed over a distance he has won over in the past. Finished 2.8 lengths behind Tamasa at Geelong last start and can bounce back into the winner’s circle to close the program. Win won’t shock.
1st: No5 INDIAN THUNDER 2nd: No2 Bravo Tango; 3rd No4 Penny to Sell; 4th: No9 Amerock
