Monday Racing Tips - 15th October

We have identified a few serious chances that will prove hard to beat at Orange and Echuca today.

Sat, 13 Oct, 12:00 AM

Echuca and Orange are the meetings that our selections come from with our top pick looking to bounce back after suffering a narrow defeat last start. Well placed and poised to strike here today and is a big danger.

Echuca is racing on a Good 4 with the rail True.

Orange is a Good 3 with the rail True.

Echuca Race 3 - 2:30PM Bourke Builders Maiden Plate (1400 Metres)

GOROKAN EXPRESS has been racing in good form of late without winning but looks to have found a very winnable race here today. Go on his effort two starts when finishing half a length behind Thai Connection at Wangaratta over 1100m. Has had a three week freshen up and drawn to get a nice run in transit. Rates well.

1st: No9 GOROKAN EXPRESS 2nd: No6 Florida Mist; 3rd: No2 Extreme Torque; 4th: No14 The Wrangler

Echuca Race 5 - 3:30PM 1PRINT Class 1 Handicap (1100 Metres)

Sticking with the Hayes & Dabernig-trained GRAND CHALLENGE that’s resuming from a three month spell but has drawn well and going on its form last preparation, he looks ready to give this an almighty shake first-up. Has trilled well leading into this and will be fit and ready to fire here today. Leading contender.

1st: No6 GRAND CHALLENGE 2nd: No3 Funding; 3rd: No1 Dennis; 4th: No2 Bold Missile

Orange Race 5 - 3:45PM Orange Vet Hospital CL3 HCP - (1280 Metres)

Sticking with the consistent TONY’S REWARD (BEST BET) to bounce back after being narrowly defeated a fortnight back. Chased hard in the straight and went neck and neck with the eventual winner Elle a Walking who gained the upper hand in the final strides to win by a long neck. Drawn to get the run of the race sees this gelding ready to pounce in today’s winnable event. Will be up near the speed and prove hard to run down.

1st: No2 TONY’S REWARD 2nd: No4 Funky Music; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No1 Our Royal Egyptian; 4th: No7 Prince Planet

Echuca Race 7 - 4:30PM Murphy’s Turf & Landscaping BM58 Handicap (1000 Metres)

COCO COUTURE (NEXT BEST BET) will be out to atone his narrow last start defeat and has drawn perfectly to go close to achieving it. Led and looked home for its run to peak in the final 100 metres to be beaten by 1.5 lengths behind Circus Dancer at Swan Hill. Will strip fitter second-up and looks the one they will be chasing down in the straight. Sticking with her.

1st: No4 COCO COUTURE 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No8 Mighty Moshe; 3rd: No1 All Too Royal; 4th No5 Shadow Looms

Echuca Race 8 - 5:00PM Independent Cranes BM58 Handicap (1200 Metres)

Drawn to get the run of the race sees the Darren Weir-trained SPICER the one to beat. Chased hard but couldn’t reel in Midnight Cowboy when going down by half a length at Swan Hill last start. Trainer and jockey have great success when combining and will just need some luck finding clear galloping space in the straight. Hard to toss.

1st: No7 SPICER 2nd: No5 Storm Approach; 3rd: No1 Hot Seat; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No3 Bel Blaster
