Friday Racing Tips - 19th October
We head into the weekend with some nice racing today and our selections come from Murray Bridge, Warrnambool and the Pakenham cards.
Friday’s race offering looks pretty good as we prepare to line our pockets for a great weekend on the punt. Our expert has done the form, for three meetings, and come up with some doozies including our best bet which is busting to win a race!
Murray Bridge is racing on a Soft 5 with the rail True.
Warrnambool is racing on a Good 3 with the rail out 5m entire circuit.
Pakenham is racing on the Synthetic with the rail in the True.
Murray Bridge Race 4 - 2:30PM FMG Engineering Benchmark 60 Handicap (Heat 7 Skybeau Series) (2200 Metres)
*SCRATCHED* AD FINEM (NEXT BEST BET) is racing for the second time in a week but looks well placed to bounce back into the winner’s circle here today. Finished 1.6 lengths behind the winner Sweet Mischief at Morphettville last week when posted wide for most of the trip. Did win well two starts back at Strathalbyn and looks to have found the right race to bounce back. Key player.
1st: *SCRATCHED* No2 AD FINEM 2nd: No6 Instinctual; 3rd: No7 Evil Princess; 4th: No5 Karaoke Express
Warrnambool Race 2 - 2:45PM Metalcorp Steel Super Vobis Maiden Plate (2381 Metres)
Fourth-up from a break should see PERISCOPE be very competitive in today’s event. Is on the short back up after finishing in the placings at Cranbourne a week back. Trainer must be confident to race her in such a short time. Looks a lively chance in a weak race.
1st: No7 PERISCOPE 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No2 Bernardini Bay; 3rd: No5 Hanaki Warrior; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No8 Stoppett
Warrnambool Race 4 - 3:55PM Garden Tyrepower BM70 Handicap (1300 Metres)
Ultra-consistent mare DUECOURSE (BEST BET) will strip fitter second-up from a break and she looks well placed to be very competitive here today. Chased hard when finishing in the placings beating 1.5 lengths behind Teleplay at Ballarat last time out. Drawn to get the run of the race and is another galloper on the short back up after racing a week ago. Stick with her.
1st: No8 DUECOURSE 2nd: No5 Think Babe; 3rd: No3 Pow Wow; 4th: No4 Del Piero
Warrnambool Race 6 - 5:05PM Shanahan Electric Motors BM58 Handicap (2030 Metres)
Despite only the one victory in twelve starts, BOSSY ROSE is ultra consistent and due for a change of luck. The Darren Weir-trained mare just missed at Tatura last start going down by a nose behind The Weald who gained the upper hand with a few strides before the post. Will be fully fit and ready to fire here today. Win won’t shock.
1st: No13 BOSSY ROSE 2nd: No12 Jimvag; 3rd: No10 Duke Of Oz; 4th: No2 Royal Enigma
Murray Bridge Race 8 - 4:50PM Carlton Draught Murray Bridge Gold Cup (1600 Metres)
Sticking with VINLAND that was a late scratching on Sunday who shapes as a major player in today’s Murray Bridge Cup over 1600m. Has been racing in great form of late which includes a dominating 2.8 length victory at Flemington, beating the likes of The Implicator and Eshtiraak. Looks to have returned in great order and looks well placed to take out this year’s Cup.
1st: No11 VINLAND 2nd: No6 Special Diva; 3rd: No3 Modulate; 4th: No2 Silvera
Pakenham Race 1 – 6:30PM Racing.com Maiden Plate (1000 Metres)
Could this be the day for *SCRATCHED* MOONLIGHTS REWARD The son of Reward For Effort looks to have found an ideal race and the distance looks like it is right up his alley. The gelding has led at four of his past five starts so he is likely to take up the running from barrier seven and will benefit from Harry Grace’s 2kg claim. Ran fifth to the highly rated Bleu Roche two runs back and just failed to get the cash at big odds last start at Bairnsdale. Hard to toss.
1st: *SCRATCHED* No3 MOONLIGHT’S REWARD 2nd: No11 Spiritosa; 3rd: No9 The Running Man; 4th: No4 Siege Warfare
Pakenham Race 2 – 7:00PM Kennards Hire Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate (1400 Metres)
This filly has started in the money a few times but is yet to break her maiden in five attempts. PERSUADER finished fourth in a strong race at Moonee Valley on October 5 behind Kaplumpich, while prior to that, she was favourite when second to Atlantic Rose at Wangaratta. Has the pole and ‘King’ Callow gets the ride – enough said!
1st: No12 PERSUADER 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No2 Firstclass Dreamer; 3rd: No11 Arabella Ekcels; 4th: No6 Maximus Magnus
Pakenham Race 5 – 8:30PM VoteBB Fillies and Mares BM64 Handicap (1600 Metres)
The money was on last start but GLOBAL SANCTION couldn’t quite deliver when third to Tigeen at Bendigo on September 27. Heavily backed, the mare made a run from midfield but didn’t have the best of luck in the straight. This is her third run back from a spell so she should be peaking. Although barrier 15 is a concern, she has the ability to be in the finish.
1st: No4 GLOBAL SANCTION 2nd: No5 Indiana Lilly; 3rd: No11 Nasaayim; 4th: No7 Missccino
