4 reasons why we think Sunlight will take out the Manikato Stakes and how you can profit.
Launch into Cox Plate weekend courtesy of this 3yo filly who’s right down in the weights.
The Valley kicks off its biggest weekend of the year, with the running of the G1 Manikato stakes on Friday night. A competitive field of 14 will scorch the turf over 1200m with the winner taking a place on the same honour role as greats Lankan Rupee, Chautauqua, Buffering, Sepoy and Hay List in recent years.
The market has shifted of late with Sunlight sitting at $4.60*, whilst previous equal favourite Kementari has been left at $5. Kementari is coming off what can only be described as a lacklustre preparation where he’s failed to live up to the hype. Whereas Sunlight is aiming for 3 wins on the trot. She broke the clock in a recent trial and here’s why she could do so again here:
- - An arrogant winner of the G3 Thoroughbred Club stakes last-start when leading all the way.
- - Gets in with a featherweight of 51kg and has the flying Tim Clark booked to ride.
- - Maps to sit just behind the leaders should get a run at the right time.
- - Possesses more upside than plenty of her well-tried rivals.
Quite a good proposition from where we’re sitting…plus if you’re eligible for the offers below your Cox Plate weekend kitty could get an early lift. For example, a winning $200 bet on Sunlight at $4.60* could see you collecting $720!
Either way, we’re blessed with some amazing racing in the next few days!
