Saturday Racing Previews & Tips - Rosehill 3rd November
It is back to Rosehill for Saturday metro racing and there appear to be a few nice horses ready to make a statement.
Looks a great meeting at Rosehill today with a few handy gallopers going around and resuming from a break. Our top pick is racing in fine fashion and looks placed to be very competitive.
Rosehill is racing on a Good 4 with the rail True.
Rosehill Race 1 - 12:00PM Lack Group Handicap (1100 Metres)
Hard to go past TIME TO REIGN in today’s opening event on the program. Led and proved too good for his rivals when beating Bivouac by 2.3 lengths at Randwick a fortnight back. Has some serious speed. Will be short but should be sweet!
1st: No1 TIME TO REIGN; 2nd: No3 Jonah; 3rd: No5 Head On; 4th: No2 Espinola
Rosehill Race 2 - 12:40PM Dynaton Sales & Hire Handicap (1200 Metres)
THE TENOR has been racing in good form of late and looks well placed to bounce back into the winner’s circle here today. Finished two lengths behind Diplomatico at Randwick a fortnight back and will appreciate the small field he faces today. The horse that beat him goes around in the Coolmore today! Drawn well and rates on top.
1st: No2 THE TENOR; 2nd: No1 Ronstar; 3rd: No3 Roheryn; 4th: No5 Brazilica
Rosehill Race 3 - 1:20PM TAB Highway Handicap (1200 Metres)
HANDLE THE TRUTH looks the one to beat in today’s Highway over 1200m. Finished 2.3 lengths behind The Lion at Randwick a fortnight back and sure to be very competitive here today. Did string back-to-back wins prior to his last start. Gets a drier track this time around and will give this an almighty shake.
1st: No1 HANDLE THE TRUTH; 2nd: No4 Chewbacca; 3rd: No3 Bella Amante; 4th: No6 Bank Of Erin
Rosehill Race 4 - 2:00PM Lidoran Group Handicap (1900 Metres)
Last start winner MASK OF TIME will be out to make it successive victories after leading all-the-way last start at Caulfield. Drawn well so expecting this galloper to lead and dictate the tempo. Drops in class on his last start when dead-heating with Best Of Days in the Coongy. Will lead this for a long way.
1st: No3 MASK OF TIME; 2nd: No7 Naval Warfare; 3rd: No5 The Lord Mayor; 4th: No2 Red Excitement
Rosehill Race 5 - 2:45PM Turner Freeman Handicap (2400 Metres)
Hard to go past the Joe Pride-trained TAMARACK that won by half a length at Warwick Farm last start and will be out to make it consecutive victories here today. Has a great record over the distance and has placed at all three starts on the track. Rises in class but drops 5kgs and will be thereabouts at the finish. Winning hope.
1st: No6 TAMARACK; 2nd: No2 Social Element; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No4 Noumea; 4th: No5 Raqeeq
Rosehill Race 6 - 3:25PM CFMEU Mining & Energy Division Handicap (1300 Metres)
Looks a perfect race for the Godolphin-trained SCHUBERT (BEST BET) to bounce back third-up from a break here today. Expecting this gelding to be rock hard fit and ready to fire. Got well back in the race won by Chapelco last start to finish fifth, with the sixth placegetter (Gitan) winning last Saturday at Randwick. Has a superb record over the distance and will be thereabouts at the finish.
1st: No5 SCHUBERT; 2nd: No10 Volpe; 3rd: No4 Mapmaker; 4th: No3 Muraahib
Rosehill Race 7 - 4:10PM AMWU Handicap (1200 Metres)
NEWSFAN is resuming from a 29-week spell but going on her form last preparation she will be ready to strike first-up here today. Has won a trial leading into this and sure to have plenty of admirers on her today. Looks a class above this lot and should go close.
1st: No3 NEWSFAN; 2nd: No7 *SCRATCHED* Strome; 3rd: No2 *SCRATCHED* Our Malambo; 4th: No4 Star Reflection
Rosehill Race 8 - 4:55PM Bradford Black Handicap (1200 Metres)
Resuming from a break sees CRADLE MOUNTAIN the one to beat here today. Has a great first-up record and blew the track record away when resuming from a break in November a year ago. Will settle just behind the speed and look for him to be coming home hard in the straight. The one to beat.
1st: No10 CRADLE MOUNTAIN; 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No11 Isorich; 3rd: No4 Maximus; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No3 Isaurian
Rosehill Race 9 - 5:40PM Bradford Energy Handicap (1500 Metres)
Sticking with the Chris Waller-trained MEROVEE that’s drawn well and sure to be very competitive in the final event of the program at Rosehill today. Go on her 1.5 length victory on this track two starts back when defeating Volpe. Could represent value.
1st: No12 MEROVEE; 2nd: No9 Manhattan Mist; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No3 No Doubt; 4th: No2 Don’t Give A Damn
