Stakes Day Racing Previews & Tips - Saturday 10th November
Huge meeting at Flemington today to round out the Cup carnival and its highlighted by two Group Ones and the appearance of Everest winner, Redzel.
The final day of the Flemington carnival has arrived, and it looks a superb program to close the huge week of here today. Our top selection is racing in red hot form and looks well placed to be first past the post here today.
Flemington is racing on a Good 4 with the rail out 8m Entire Circuit.
Flemington Race 1 - 12:15PM Melbourne’s Own 3AW Trophy (1600 Metres)
MANUEL was beaten by Fifty Stars on Melbourne Cup day, leading until the final few founds and is on the quick back up here today. Did win well two starts ago at Caulfield and the stable must be full of confidence with the quick back. Solid chance in the form his in. Danger.
1st: No3 MANUEL; 2nd: No1 Loyalty Man; 3rd: No2 Al Passem; 4th: No6 Call It a Day
Flemington Race 2 - 12:50PM Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Plate (2000 Metres)
LUCKY FOR ALL is an ultra consistent gelding out of the astute Darren Weir stable that looks perfectly placed here today. Chased hard to defeat Danon Roman by half a length at Caulfield three weeks back and will be fresh and ready to fire here today. Drawn well and will go close. Hard to go past.
1st: No5 LUCKY FOR ALL; 2nd: No2 Silvera; 3rd No8 Pleasuring; 4th: No9 Special Alert
Flemington Race 3 - 1:30PM Watch Racing.com Springtime Stakes (1400 Metres)
YULONG JANUARY (BEST BET) is racing in great form and looks hard to go past in today’s event. He's yet to be out of the money with three great on-pace wins under his belt. Led last start and was annoyed by a riderless horse before being beaten 0.2L by boom galloper Ranier; that form has been franked with winner tasting success last weekend in the Carbine Club. We expect this colt to go forward and take up the lead the role and be too hard to run down. Drawn perfectly and should be first past the post.
1st: No4 YULONG JANUARY; 2nd: No7 Signore Fox; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No3 Sunset Watch; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No1 Long Leaf
Flemington Race 4 - 2:10PM DeRucci Chatham Stakes (1400 Metres)
WIDGEE TURF will be giving away a big start rounding the bend but watch for his amazing turn of foot which will be suited by this long Flemington straight. Stormed home and just failed to reel in Iconoclasm when missing by a length at Mooney Valley last start, with that horse finishing less than three lengths from Best Of Days in the Group One Kennedy Mile last weekend. Stick with him - he’s flying!
1st: No1 WIDGEE TURF; 2nd: No3 Dollar For Dollar; 3rd: No4 Dreamforce; 4th: No7 Mr Sneaky
Flemington Race 5 - 2:50PM Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2600 Metres)
JAAMEH (BEST BET) is on the seven-day back-up but has the form to be very competitive here today. Chased hard when finishing in the placings behind Melbourne Cup placegetter A Prince Of Arran on this track last Saturday in the Group Three Lexus Stakes. Will strip fitter and look for him launching at his rivals late. Rates on top.
1st: No7 JAAMEH; 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No5 Wall Of Fire; 3rd: No1 Libran; 4th: No3 Lord Fandango
Flemington Race 6 - 3:30PM 7News Matriarch Stakes (2000 Metres)
Tough race with plenty of chances but sticking with the in-form AQUA D’IVINA to rack up the hat-trick of victories here today. Looked impressive when storming home to defeat Instant De Reve at Randwick a fortnight back and looks well weighted in this. Will need to find cover and if she does watch for her in the straight. Possesses a good turn of foot.
1st: No12 AQUA D’INA; 2nd: No14 Our Libretto; 3rd: No2 Savvy Coup; 4th: No9 Nettoyer
Flemington Race 7 - 4:10PM VRC Sprint Classic (1200 Metres)
REDZEL is the best sprinter in the country and looks well placed to make it successive VRC Sprints after tasting success last year. Gave his rivals no chance when making it back-to-back Everests at Randwick a month ago. Has some serious speed and will be in front for a long way.
1st: No1 REDZEL; 2nd: No2 Brave Smash; 3rd: No5 Jungle Cat; 4th: No8 Spirit of Valor
Flemington Race 8 - 4:55PM Seppelt Mackinnon Stakes (2000 Metres)
Looks a perfect race for BLAIR HOUSE to atone for his narrow defeat behind Benbatl in the Group One Caulfield Stakes a fortnight ago. Has drawn to get the run of the race and looks the one they all need to beat here today. The Benbatl form stands up as he went on to finish second to champion mare Winx in the Cox Plate. Is a galloper with plenty of upside and will appreciate the long Flemington straight. Key player.
1st: No3 BLAIR HOUSE; 2nd: No7 Latrobe; 3rd: No2 Prized Icon; 4th: No9 Extra Brut
Flemington Race 9 - 5:45PM Grand Handicap (1100 Metres)
EURACK has won all his four starts to date and looks a key player in the final event of the program at Flemington today. Resuming from a long layoff, this mare showed promise last preparation to be a leading contender here today. Looks a serious mare in the making and will go close.
1st: No9 EURACK; 2nd: No8 Beacon; 3rd: No13 As It Lies; 4th: No5 Mr Money Bags
