Seymour and Port Macquarie are the meetings that we have earmarked to have a crack at this afternoon. Our best bet of the day was hammered in betting on debut and got the chocolates, landing a serious plunge in the process. We are backing her to do it again here.
Seymour is racing on a Good 4 with the rail True.
Port Macquarie is racing on a Good 4 with the rail True.
CHARLIE’S LAW looks the likely winner in today’s opening event at Port Macquarie. Expect this Kris Lees-trained gelding to strip fitter second-up following his second to Total Power at Tamworth a fortnight back. Will settle behind the speed and have the last crack at them in the straight. Rates on top.
1st: No3 CHARLIE’S LAW 2nd: No6 Desert Fox; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No7 Smokin’ Suzy; 4th: No1 Magic Ray
*SCRATCHED* TAHLAYLA has placed at five from her six starts to date and looks well placed to get the maiden victory she deserves here today. Chased hard in failing to peg back Tsushima when going down in a blanket finish at Yarra Valley a fortnight back. Has the form and looks like today will be the day.
1st: *SCRATCHED* No11 TAHLAYLA 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No6 Classic Choice; 3rd: No3 Tycoon Gina; 4th: No2 Dashing Dot
Liked the way MASTER CONTROL (NEXT BEST BET) finished off his race when narrowly beaten at Echuca last start and he will be primed for another big effort. Does tend to get back in his races but possesses a good turn of foot so watch for him coming home hard in the straight. Well placed and the one to beat.
1st: No4 MASTER CONTROL 2nd: No9 Bezos; 3rd: No1 Doolie; 4th: No2 Farriers Favourite
Sticking with the impressive debut winner ANGEL OF HEAVEN (BEST BET) to make it back-to-back victories to kick start her racing career here today. Another one of our picks today out of the Kris Lees stable, the filly stormed home on debut to defeat Cortesta by just under half a length at Scone after being crunched in from double figures to start favourite. Looks a filly with a touch of class and is a serious player in this.
1st: No4 ANGEL OF HEAVEN 2nd: No3 Mokin; 3rd: No2 Tickets to Fly; 4th: No7 Tipsy Choice
Topweight CARRIBBEAN PEARL looks well placed to take out the final event of the program at Seymour today. Will strip fitter fourth-up from a break and going on her past three effort to date, she appears to be working up to a win. Jockey Steve Vella should push forward at the start and the pair is likely to be in the firing line throughout. Will go close.
1st: No1 CARRIBBEAN PEARL 2nd: No11 Armona; 3rd: No8 None Left; 4th: No3 Deck of Cards
