Wednesday Bendigo Previews & Tips - 14th November
Bendigo is our midweek metro venue and our expert is confident on a number of his top fancies here today.
Good program with plenty of chances here at Bendigo and it does look like it could be another winning day for leading trainer Darren Weir as he saddles up a few serious chances. Our best bet of the day is a lightly raced gelding that is racing in a purple patch of form and that for us will be a winning combination!
Bendigo is racing on a Good 4 with the rail True.
Bendigo Race 1 - 1:00PM MyPunter.com 3YO Maiden Plate (1600 Metres)
Looks a two-horse race to start the program but sticking with the Ciaron Maher trained SUBURBIA that will be ready to peak third-up here today. Finished the race off strongly when beaten by three lengths behind Jawwal on this track last start. The extra 200 metres of this and the small field definitely suits. Ready to fire.
1st: No3 SUBURBIA 2nd: No2 Dunman; 3rd: No1 Awaytoff; 4th: No5 Alexandria
Bendigo Race 2 - 1:35PM Jayco Super Vobis Maiden Plate (2400 Metres)
MUNTANAASEQ finished 3.5 lengths behind the in-form Zarpuler at Echuca last start and looks well placed to break through for her maiden victory here today. Has drawn well and the distance looks to suit him. Key player.
1st: No5 MUTANAASEQ 2nd: No2 Mishmash; 3rd No7 Costalot; 4th: No8 Eclipse Miss
Bendigo Race 3 - 2:10PM Bet365 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate (1300 Metres)
Open race with a stack of chances but sticking with the Darren Weir-trained FRENCH FIZZ that’s having her second start to date and finishing runner-up on debut. Chased hard but couldn’t reel in eventual winner Quora when beaten by 3.4 lengths at Benalla a fortnight back. Will strip fitter and can figure here today. Win won’t shock.
1st: No4 FRENCH FIZZ 2nd: No1 Birdwing; 3rd: No7 Miss France; 4th: No3 Crown Dancer
Bendigo Race 4 - 2:45PM No Fuss Event Hire Maiden Plate (1000 Metres)
THUNDERBOLT TWO has finished in the placing at two from three starts to date and looks to have found the right race to get his much deserved maiden victory here today. Led and looked the winner only to fade over the final half furlong to be beaten just over a length at Echuca last start. Will look to lead again and give them something to chase. Rates on top.
1st: No6 THUNDERBOLT TWO 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No8 Mean To Me; No2 River House; 4th: No7 Diamond Moss
Bendigo Race 5 - 3:20PM The Big Screen Company BM64 Handicap (1100 Metres)
Lightly raced gelding STARVIRGO (BEST BET) has been racing in great form of late and looks the one to beat here today. This Anthony Freedman-trained colt is looking to atone his narrow defeat behind Marx Brother at Benalla last start. Has drawn to get the run of the race and shapes as the one to beat here today. Ticks all the boxes and is a serious player!
1st: No5 STARVIRGO 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No1 Zelamore; 3rd: No2 Got The Moves; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No6 Sacred Sister
Bendigo Race 6 - 3:55PM Midland Irrigation Class 1 Handicap (1400 Metres)
WRITE YOUR NAME (NEXT BEST BET) has won or placed at his two starts to date and could be a colt to keep an eye on for the future. Looked impressive when winning on debut by 2.2 lengths at Ballarat before finishing a half-length behind the winner at Echuca last start. Very unlucky on that occasion but will settle midfield or worse and be saved for one crack at them in the straight. Hard to hold out.
1st: No4 WRITE YOUR NAME 2nd: No6 Mr Genoa; 3rd: No1 Friedensberg; 4th: No2 King Tycoon
Bendigo Race 7 - 4:30PM Fortuna Villa F&M BM64 Handicap (1600 Metres)
SUPRE is a lightly raced mare that’s finished runner-up at both her starts to date and looks poised to strike third-up from a spell. Chased hard when just failing to reel in Mr Quickie beaten by a nose at Geelong a fortnight back and will be out to atone that narrow defeat. Has a good turn of foot and could the one storming over the top of them late. Rates well.
1st: No2 SUPRE 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No5 Camelle; 3rd: No1 Pearl de Vere; 4th: No9 Limeshow
Bendigo Race 8 - 5:05PM Ace Training BM70 Handicap (1300 Metres)
Open race to close the program but sticking with Darren Weir’s THINK BABE that looks well placed to take out this race. Chased hard when finishing less than a length behind Exceltera at Mornington a fortnight ago and comes into this with two runs under his belt. Should be peaking for this.
1st: No5 THINK BABE 2nd: No1 Artic Song; 3rd No3 Data Point; 4th: No8 Sam Slick
