We are spreading our bank across three venues today – Ballina, Seymour and Wagga. Our five selections look serious chances across their respective events today with our top tip going around at Ballina in the first. It set a track record two starts back and looks extremely hard to beat in this.

Ballina is racing on a Soft 5 with the rail 1.5m out 1000m-250m and cutaway applies.

Seymour is racing on a Good 4 with the rail out 3m the entire circuit.

Wagga is racing on a Good 4 with the rail out 6m from 1400-WP, true the remainder

Seymour Race 1 - 1:30PM Avenel Equine Hospital 3YO Maiden Plate (1411 Metres)

This colt looks set to give this race an almighty shake. ESPADIERO came from last at the 800m to work home stylishly out wide when third to Diamond Bliss at this track on November 15. He made up plenty of ground on the runner-up (Don’t Wait) who he meets again here and drawn one, he is a big hope to crack it for a maiden win. Really Swish is the one to beat but Espadiero could be the one to find any chinks in the armour.

1st: No4 ESPADEIRO; 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No6 Really Swish; 3rd: No3 Don’t Wait; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No1 Demilitarized

Ballina Race 1 - 1:50PM XXXX Gold F&M Benchmark 66 Handicap (1405 Metres)

The drop back in class will definitely help TEMPETE ROUGE (BEST BET). Last time out, trainer Michael Costa took him to Doomben over 1615m and she led until straightening but faded to finish nearly 10l behind Double Superlative. Prior to that, she ran a track record at Coffs Harbour when leading throughout on the Heavy. Soft track helps and barrier three should see jockey Scott Galloway take up a forward role. The one to beat.

1st: No3 TEMPETE ROUGE; 2nd: No4 Mackellar; 3rd: No8 Ramatuelle; 4th: No1 Snuggle Pot

Ballina Race 2 - 2:25PM TAB.com.au Maiden Plate (1005 Metres)

Looks a good race for BURNING SUCCESS to break through. Led until the final few bounds at this track on November 12 when collared late by Deubank and Commissioner. That form has been franked with the latter thrashing his rivals at Coffs Harbour on Saturday. The slight drop in distance helps Burning Success’ chances and Michael McNab should have the gelding up near the lead once again. Hard to toss.

 1st: No6 BURNING SUCCESS; 2nd: No3 Magic Scent; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No14 Tell Everybody; 4th: No7 Dorset Coast

Seymour Race 4 - 3:00PM Mitchelton Wines Maiden Plate (2015 Metres)

Like the way this horse fought on at Packenham last time out over a similar distance and he looks ready to run another great race. HONOUR PENDRAGON was used up early to find a prominent spot and sat behind the leader on that occasion and hit the front briefly midway down the straight but couldn’t match it with Mannza which enjoyed by far the better run. Wound up third beaten two lengths at the finish. Drawn six here, Jason Maskiell is sure to push on once again to try and find a spot close to the speed. Eachway all day!

1st: No3 HONOUR PENDRAGON; 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No1 Castle Rock; 3rd: No6 Medicine Ball; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No8 Tapanui

Wagga Race 5 - 4:35PM Jaegers Event Hire Benchmark 66 Handicap – Heat of the Rising Star (1600 Metres)

It is worth following NOBLE DESCENT (NEXT BEST BET) in this despite him having to carry 61kgs. Found the line well last start after giving away too big a start when second to Not Too Sure at this track on November 2. That was in a BM79 so gets the benefit of a class drop as well as barrier two. Does map to get back in his races but third-up, he should be peaking for this.

1st: No2 NOBLE DESCENT; 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No1 Mornington; 3rd: No6 Butler Butler; 4th: No3 Elle A Walking
