The first metro meeting of December sees our expert really keen on a few gallopers from some outstanding stables. Our best bet comes out of the Chris Waller barn and looks thrown into her event while our next best is owned by the powerful Godolphin conglomerate.

Rosehill is racing on a Soft 6 with the rail out 3m the entire.

QUADDIE:

R6: 2,4,8,9

R7: 1,2,5,6

R8: 5,8,10,11

R9: 2,5,12

Rosehill Race 1 - 1:15PM Elderton Homes Made You Look Sprint (1100 Metres)

NUCLEAR SUMMIT is our on top selection in what is a difficult race to assess. Most of the field are first starters including this bloke, who clocked up an impressive 54.73 in winning a 900m barrier trial at Rosehill on Nov 19. Drawn to be prominent going off his 2.3 length trial victory.

1st: No6 NUCLEAR SUMMIT 2nd: No11 Athiri; 3rd: No1 Sebrakate; 4th: No2 Krameric

Rosehill Race 2 - 1:50PM Happy 21st Madeline Sprint (1100 Metres)

Tipping Godolphin will dominate this race with GONGS and Regimen both prominently placed. We like Gongs who comes into the race with just 52.5kgs. The three-year-old filly is coming off a 10th behind the exciting Bleu Roche during Cup week at Flemington. Importantly, she was only beaten two lengths in a tight finish and hit the line hard. Value.

1st: No13 GONGS 2nd: No5 Regimen; 3rd: No1 Easy Eddie; 4th: No8 Skyray

Rosehill Race 3 - 2:25PM TAB Highway Handicap (1200 Metres)

NOBLE BOY has won his only two starts and will be looking to rack up the hat-trick here. The lightly raced four-year-old was impressive in winning last time out at Goulburn on Nov 10. Was stuck three-wide at the tail of the field but still loomed up at the top of the straight and put paid to his rivals. Wet track only concern.

1st: No5 NOBLE BOY 2nd: No1 Coup De Main; 3rd: No2 I Am Capitan; 4th: No15 Sheza Danza

Rosehill Race 4 - 3:00PM ATC Cup (2000 Metres)

They have jumped out of trees to back SAVACOOL (BEST BET) ever since markets opened. The Chris Waller-trained mare has been crunched across the marketplace, firming from approximately $3 into even money or even red figures at some places. Won easily at Flemington last time out in a Benchmark 90. Two starts back ran a cracking second to Sky Boy over this distance and that is cracking form. Drops to 53kgs with Kerrin McEvoy aboard. Top combination.

1st: No6 SAVACOOL 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No5 Abdon; 3rd: No3 Our Century; 4th: No4 Exoteric

Rosehill Race 5 - 3:40PM ATC Tipping Competition Handicap (2400 Metres)

Very tricky race with MAZAZ definitely offering a bit of value. Wound up second to The Bandit last time out when three-back the inside for most of the trip. Gets a half kilo off that runner here and doesn’t mind the wet conditions. Could be the one.

1st: No6 MAZAZ 2nd: No5 The Bandit; 3rd: No1 Tamarack; 4th: No3 Solo Mission

Rosehill Race 6 - 4:20PM Festival Stakes (1500 Metres)

MY NORDIC HERO had the flashing light on him first-up and will be far better for the outing. Ran on strongly from a midfield role and just missed catching the honest Firsthand a fortnight back at this track. Maps to settle midfield and should be close enough is good enough. Has two wins from three starts second-up.

1st: No8 MY NORDIC HERO 2nd: No2 Duca Valentinois; 3rd: No4 Pecans; 4th: No9 Goodfella

Rosehill Race 7 - 5:00PM Starlight Stakes (1100 Metres)

We see the return to racing of DEPLOY. The talented gelding hasn’t raced since February when unplaced as a disappointing favourite behind Kaepernick in Group 3 company. Prior to that went around in The Everest (20170 and earned his spot in the field with a track record run at at this track over 1300m. Likes the wet and goes good first-up. Fitness the only concern.

1st: No1 DEPLOY 2nd: No2 Invincible Star; 3rd: No5 Badajoz; 4th: No6 Marsupial

Rosehill Race 8 - 5:40PM Summer Racing Handicap (1300 Metres)

In a race of many chances, we fancy BEAU GESTE after he drew gate one. Jockey Kerrin McEvoy should have him in a good spot throughout which wasn’t the case the last time the gelding raced. Planted wide at Flemington, he had nothing left in the straight but still battled on to finish sixth to Fifty Stars. That has proven to be a hot race with multiple winners coming out of the event. Likes the wet and should be thereabouts at the finish. One of his two career wins was at this track.

1st: No11 BEAU GESTE 2nd: No5 Drachenfels; 3rd: No8 Revenire; 4th: No10 Mapmaker

Rosehill Race 9 - 6:15PM TAB Rewards Handicap (1500 Metres)

GAULOIS (NEXT BEST BET) should round out a big day for the Royal Blue of Godolphin. The James Cummings-trained runner ran third at this track on Nov 10, when settling in the second half of the field but still running on strongly down the straight. Has a great record second-up (4s-1w-3p), is terrific in the wet and gets Hugh Bowman aboard. Enough said!

1st: No2 GAULOIS 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No9 Asterius; 3rd: No12 Arraignment; 4th: No5 Sexy Eyes
