Saturday Racing Previews & Tips - Ascot 8th December

Looks like we have a great meeting ahead of us at Ascot today with the power stables of the west ready to dominate.

Thu, 6 Dec, 12:00 AM

Super program at Ascot today with all eyes on the Group One Kingston Town Classic over 1800m. Our top pick on the card is a highly talented mare and looks ready to make it win number nine from just 16 career starts.

Ascot is racing on a Good 4 with the rail out 6m entire circuit.

R6: 1,2,4,7

R7: 4,5,9,10

R8: 2,4,11,15

R9: 1,3,5,7

Ascot Race 1 - 3:24PM (AEDT) Tourism WA Trophy (1000 Metres)

MARKET RULER has won four out of his eight starts to date and looks hard to go past in the opening event of the program. Drops down in grade and has drawn to get the run of the race so expecting this filly to bounce back over a distance she has won all three starts over. Key player.

1st: No2 MARKET RULER 2nd: No1 Fire And Rain; 3rd: No3 Rebel Yell; 4th: No5 Dash For knickers

Ascot Race 2 - 4:04PM (AEDT) Quayclean Handicap (1000 Metres)

M’LADY has drawn to be competitive and looks well placed here today. Finished two lengths behind Patapus on this track last start and will appreciate the drop back to the 1000m in which she has won twice over. Solid eachway hope.

1st: No6 M’LADY 2nd: No4 My Demi; 3rd No2 Danny George; 4th: No5 Bon Voyage

Ascot Race 3 - 4:44PM (AEDT) Vale Bill Doughty Handicap (1200 Metres)

Sticking with the consistent THE NICCONIAN to make it three wins on the trot here today. This gelding is racing in red hot form of late and going on his past two victories the hat-trick isn’t far away. Will be flashing at them late. Solid claims.

1st: No4 THE NICCONIAN 2nd: No9 Molten; 3rd: No5 Sweet Ora; 4th: No1 River Dance

Ascot Race 4 - 5:24PM (AEDT) Crown Perth Handicap (1500 Metres)

ROYAL STATUE (NEXT BEST BET) is an ultra-consistent gelding that’s looking to rack up the hat-trick of victories since resuming from a break. This galloper is on the way up and looks hard to beat going on his victory when defeating Moet de Vega by half a length on this track a fortnight back, which was aided by a brilliant Willie Pike ride. Has won four in a row, including two last prep. Hard to toss

1st: No4 ROYAL STATURE 2nd: No2 Nelson’s Fight; 3rd: No8 Moet de Vega; 4th: No3 Rising Sea

Ascot Race 5 - 6:00PM (AEDT) TABTouch-Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic (1400 Metres)

FESTIVAL MISS has yet to miss a place from her four starts to date and won on debut back in March. Will be giving them a start but watch for her storming home down the Ascot straight. Has a good turn of foot and will go close!

1st: No8 FESTIVAL MISS 2nd: No2 Orcien; 3rd: No7 Shapita; 4th: No1 The Velvet King

Ascot Race 6 - 6:35PM (AEDT) Ascend Sales-Jungle Dawn Classic (1400 Metres)

MISTY METAL (BEST BET) is a very talented mare and looks perfectly placed to strike here today. Led and proved too slick for her rivals when winning by 2.8 lengths on this track last start. Has the form and looks above average winning eight from 15 starts to date. Top pick.

1st: No2 MISTY METAL 2nd: No1 Celebrity Dream; 3rd: No4 Private Dancer; 4th: No7 Showcase

Ascot Race 7 - 7:10PM (AEDT) Auto Masters-G.A Towton Cup (2200 Metres)

MISSISSIPPI DELTA is racing in consistent form and is ready to give this a shake for the powerful Grant and Alana Williams barn. Looked impressive at her last start, storming home to defeat Blue Tracer by two lengths. Excels over the track and distance. Stick with her - she’s talented!

1st: No5 MISSISSIPPI DELTA 2nd: No4 Royal Star; 3rd: No9 Elegant Blast; 4th: No10 First Affair

Ascot Race 8 - 7:50PM (AEDT) Magic Millions-Kingston Town Classic (1800 Metres)

ARCADIA QUEEN is a very talented filly and looks hard to go past in today’s Group One over the 1800m. Has won her past two starts and looks poised to make it three on the trot. Gets in with just 50kgs and has Willie Pike aboard. Rates on top.

1st: No15 ARCADIA QUEEN 2nd: No11 Holy Snow; 3rd: No4 Gatting; 4th: No2 Material Man

Ascot Race 9 - 8:30PM (AEDT) TABTouch – Better Your Bet Handicap (1800 Metres)

QUEEN BEY is a last start winner and can make it back-to-back victories in the final event of the program at Ascot today. Chased hard to get the job right on the line defeating Mississippi Delta in a tight finish. Will be giving them a start but watch her roaring home. Key player.

1st: No7 QUEEN BEY 2nd: No1 Dark Prospect; 3rd: No3 Miracle Man; 4th: No5 Blackline
