Friday Racing Tips - 28th December
We have identified a few nice horses at Gosford and Ipswich that look well placed as we head into a huge weekend of racing.
Looks a great meeting at Gosford today and we have identified a few selections that look well placed and are sure to be very competitive. Our Ipswich selection will prove hard to beat also but our best of the best comes from Gosford where a hat-trick of wins is looming.
Gosford is racing on a Good 4 with the rail True.
Ipswich is racing on a Soft 5 with the rail out 9m 1600m-1200m, +10m Remainder.
Gosford Race 1 - 1:25PM Narara Plumbing Services Benchmark 64 Handicap (1600 Metres)
Looks a perfect race for DEVIL’S LUCK (BEST BET) to make it successive victories here today. Led and proved too smart for his rivals when racing away to a 3.4 length romping at Wyong a fortnight back. Has the form and will take plenty of catching.
1st: No2 DEVIL’S LUCK 2nd: No1 Rapido Chaparro; 3rd: No6 Test of War; 4th: No8 Northern Lights
Gosford Race 4 - 3:10PM Kentan Machinery Metro & Prov Maiden Plate (1100 Metres)
Huge drop in grade sees EXCLETIC clearly the one to beat first-up from a three-month spell. This colt raced in some handy races last preparation including the Group 3 Ming Dynasty when finishing 3.7 lengths behind Danawi back in August. Looks to have found the right race to resume in and should be winning this!
1st: No2 EXCELTIC 2nd: No4 Perigord; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No8 Sharp Tune; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No6 Taking Charge
Gosford Race 5 - 3:45PM Mercedes-Benz Gosford Guineas (1200 Metres)
ROSINA KOJONUP (BEST BET) is racing in hot form since resuming from a break and looks ready to make it three wins on the trot. Led and kicked away in the straight to win by 2.3 lengths at Hawkesbury last start and has drawn to lead and take plenty of catching yet again. Ticks all the boxes. Top pick.
1st: No9 ROSINA KOJUNUP 2nd: No8 Tell Me; 3rd: No4 Military Zone; 4th: No2 Dio D’oro
Gosford Race 6 - 4:20PM Gosford RSL Belle Of The Turf Stakes (1600 Metres)
*SCRATCHED* ALOISIA (NEXT BEST BET) was scratched from the Summer Cup at Randwick on Boxing Day and looks the one they all need to beat. Will be giving them a start but has a great turn of foot so watch for her flashing home in the straight, just as she did last start when second to Sky Boy in the Group Two Villiers Stakes. Serious contender.
1st: *SCRATCHED* No1 ALOISIA 2nd: No2 Pecans; 3rd: No4 Irithea; 4th: No3 Zumbelina
Ipswich Race 5 - 5:42PM (AEDT) River 94.9FM Class 3 Handicap (1100 Metres)
Sticking with *SCRATCHED* CALZINI to atone for her narrow defeat on the Gold Coast a fortnight ago. Chased hard but found one too good on the day when finishing a length behind Boom Chicka Boom, however, go on her 3.5 length victory two starts back and she looks well placed here. Drawn well in four and is a serious player.
1st: *SCRATCHED* No5 CALZINI 2nd: No1 Star Rock; 3rd: No3 Junction; 4th: No2 Little John
