Friday Racing Tips - 11th January
Some big names are set to play a big part in today’s racing from the Gosford and Hamilton cards.
Our expert has mainly focused on the Gosford card which is a twilight fixture but prior to that there is one he is especially keen on at Hamilton. Our best of the day though comes from the Central Coast track and has some good formlines coming into this race including a win on the Kenso two starts back.
Hamilton is racing on a Good 4 with the rail true the entire.
Gosford is racing on a Soft 5 with the rail out 3m the entire.
Hamilton Race 3 - 2:30PM bet365 Maiden Plate (1400 Metres)
Is today the day for this Ricky Bruhn galloper? We think so! TONTEIN was hitting the line well last time out over 1400m when third to Royal Boss and looks ready to break through at start number four. Drawn barrier three, jockey Linda Meech should have him in the first half dozen as he maps to be up on the speed. Hard to beat.
1st: No7 TONTEIN 2nd: No12 Miss Cavendish; 3rd: No11 Batty Belfry; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No6 Perfect Pony
Gosford Race 1 - 3:05PM Nanas Dress Shorts & Braces Benchmark 64 Handicap (1000 Metres)
Look towards the Godolphin runner in the opener at Gosford. SERGEANT has done his racing in Victoria up until this point, with his four career starts yielding just the one placing. Hasn’t raced since August when fifth to Prepare To Win. Has had two quiet trials at Warwick Farm leading into this. Watch the market.
1st: No4 SERGEANT 2nd: No3 Koonunga; 3rd: No7 Solera; 4th No8 Time And Again
Gosford Race 3 - 4:20PM Signrama Erina/Gosford Class 2 Handicap (1100 Metres)
Is dropping back from midweek City class for this. HE’S SUPER LUCKY (BEST BET) won on the Kensington track back on November 22 beating Miss Scorcher and Miss Invincible, with the latter going on to win at its next start. The Amanda Turner & Mauro Poletti-trained horse then clashed with Rosina Kojonup and Bare Naked Lady at Warwick Farm and finished a respectable fourth. That is good enough form for a race of this nature.
1st: No2 HE’S SUPER LUCKY 2nd: No1 Safado; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No4 Koonunga; 4th: No5 Albert’s No Pussy
Gosford Race 5 - 5:30PM Justin Wren’s 40th Birthday Benchmark 64 Handicap (1600 Metres)
The Clare Cunningham-trained runner shapes as a big threat in this race. Finished last at Randwick on Boxing Day behind Connemara in harder company than this and drops back in grade which is a big help. The six-year-old has good second-up stats (6s-0w-3p) and will benefit from the step up in trip too. Worth a ticket.
1st: No1 *SCRATCHED* EL DORADO MINE 2nd: No2 Victime De L’amour; 3rd: No7 Sensacova; 4th: No6 Inherit
Gosford Race 7 - 6:40PM Signarama Erina/Gosford F&M Maiden Handicap (1100 Metres)
Giving this filly out of the Chris Waller stable another chance. PRESS BOX (NEXT BEST BET) has had a bit of a boom on her since her debut back in May last year. She has started well in the market at all five runs but is yet to break through. She comes into this first-up and Waller gave her a nice trial at Rosehill on January 2 where she finished fourth to Milunka but only beaten a length. Give another go.
1st: No1 *SCRATCHED* PRESS BOX 2nd: No6 *SCRATCHED* Foxpack; 3rd: No13 Rebukes; 4th: No15 Mirfa
