Monday Racing Previews & Tips - Warwick Farm 28th January
Public Holiday Monday meeting at The Farm and we are super keen on a few going around today.
Warwick Farm takes centre stage this Public Holiday with a few handy gallopers going around in a strong metro meeting. Our top pick is a lightly raced galloper that’s perfectly placed to make a big impression.
Warwick Farm is racing on a Good 4 with the rail +5m 1000m to WP, +3m remainder.
Warwick Farm Race 1 - 1:25PM Events by ATC Plate (1100 Metres)
LASHES has won a trial leading into this and will take plenty of beating in today’s opening event of the program. Finished half a length behind Vegadaze at Canterbury last start. Has the form around her and expect her to prove hard to beat.
1st: No8 LASHES 2nd: No5 Autumn; 3rd: No10 Set Goals 4th: No12 Skillet
Warwick Farm Race 3 - 2:35PM Australian Turf Club Handicap (1600 Metres)
LADY CUVEE (NEXT BEST BET) looked impressive when storming home to win by a length on this track last start and can now go on with the job. Will look to settle in a midfield position and have the last crack at them in the straight. Not easy to win straight out of maiden grade but we rate this Savabeel filly highly.
1st: No7 LADY CUVEE 2nd: No11 Savigne; 3rd: No6 Helga 4th: No2 Stealth Sniper
Warwick Farm Race 4 - 3:10PM Ken Phillips Memorial Handicap (2200 Metres)
GAYATRI (BEST BET) was scratched from Saturday and looks to have found a very winnable race here today. This mare is lightly raced and has won three from five starts to date. Has the form and should be the first past the post. Big danger.
1st: No2 GAYATRI 2nd: No1 Equipped; 3rd: No5 Allcash 4th: No8 Vihari
Warwick Farm Race 5 - 3:50PM ANZ Bloodstock News Handicap (1000 Metres)
RAIDEN resumed from a break with a solid third at Canterbury, beaten 2.5 lengths behind in-form All Too Royal and will sharply improve second-up here today. Has drawn to get the run of the race and won at his only start over the track/distance. All Too Royal has since franked the form too. Serious player.
1st: No1 RAIDEN 2nd: No2 Rebel Miss; 3rd: No9 Reprimanded; 4th: No4 Stephan
Warwick Farm Race 6 - 4:30PM Australia Day Cup (2400 Metres)
ETYMOLOGY now has the confidence sky high and we think the hat-trick is just around the corner. Has won consecutive races at Flemington over a similar journey and this doesn’t appear to be any harder than those. Likely to push forward from eight and find a spot midfield. Ticks all the boxes.
1st: No3 ETYMOLOGY 2nd: No1 Fabrizio; 3rd:No5 Naval Warfare; 4th: No4 Black On Gold
Warwick Farm Race 7 - 5:10PM Bowermans Office Furniture Handicap (1200 Metres)
NORDICUS won well in November at Randwick before going for a let up. Has had a solid hit out in a Rosehill trial leading into his return and we expect this colt to be very competitive here today. Races well fresh
1st: No7 NORDICUS 2nd: No3 Crafty Tycoon; 3rd: No8 Tough Larry 4th: No10 Vega
Warwick Farm Race 8 - 5:50PM The Championships On Sale Handicap (1400 Metres)
Tough race to close the program but we are sticking with INTENSE FOCUS that’s drawn to get the gun run from barrier one. Finished three lengths behind You Make Me Smile at Canterbury last start when chasing hard in the straight. Winner has since franked the form. This gelding will likely settle in the first four or five runners and will look the winner at some stage down the straight.
1st: No15 INTENSE FOCUS 2nd: No14 Adana; 3rd: No16 High Low Bet 4th: No7 Pembroke Castle
