Saturday Racing Tips - 2nd February
The money is already on one of our selections this Saturday but can the overs gods do us some justice?
Adelaide and Brisbane are the two cities we have focused on for our Best of the Rest selections this afternoon. There are two really strong chances at Eagle Farm while at Morphettville we are banking on a consistent horse to go one better.
Morphettville is racing on a Good 4 with the rail in the Normal position.
Eagle Farm is racing on a Good 4 with the rail out 4m the entire circuit.
Eagle Farm Race 3 - 2:47PM (AEDT) Access Insulation No Metro Wins Handicap (1000 Metres)
MEET MR TAYLOR will go around as one of the shortest-priced favourites of the day, however, he looks a good bet here. The gelding is unbeaten in four career starts and absolutely bolted in at Doomben on Jan 23, winning by 5.5 lengths! Usually leads in his races and we think Mark Du Plessis will push on from his wide gate to find the top again. Hard to toss.
1st: No5 MEET MR TAYLOR 2nd: No7 Capital Connection; 3rd: No2 Connoisseur; 4th: No3 Wonder Boom
Morphettville Race 7 - 5:41PM (AEDT) John Senior Frankhuisen 83rd Birthday Handicap (1550 Metres)
This looks an ideal race for CANNOT BE SERIOS and what’s more, it looks as though we are getting a nice price too. The gelding ran a great race last time out in BM70 company, leading for most of the trip in finishing second to Charossa. This is a BM64 and Chris Caserta’s 2kg claim means he isn’t badly weighted at 56.5kgs, Drawn four, he could go forward again and give them something to catch.
1st: No4 CANNOT BE SERIOS; 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No2 El Desperado; 3rd: No10 Light The Waves; 4th: No8 Pianissimo
Eagle Farm Race 9 - 6:40PM (AEDT) KIRIN Class 6 Handicap (1300 Metres)
KING LEAR has already been heavily backed across several bookies and it is easy to see why. The six-year-old was seen doing his best work late over 1200m last start at this track, coming from last on the turn to finish second to Mishani Electra. Drops 4kgs for this. Can win.
1st: No8 KING LEAR; 2nd: No4 Of the Day; 3rd: No5 Catesby; 4th: No1 Strathmore
