Tuesday Racing Tips - 12th February
Our best bet is drawn ideally today and is ready to see a turn in fortunes after two luckless runs.
Gosford and Kyneton are the two venues we have focused on today with the majority of those coming from the Central Coast track. Our best of the day didn’t have any luck last time out and is dropping back to a much easier race.
Gosford is racing on a Soft 5 with the rail out 3m the entire circuit.
Kyneton is racing on a Good 4 with the rail out 4m 1200m-WP, true the remainder.
Gosford Race 1 - 1:15PM TAB.com.au 3 or Less Starts Maiden Handicap (1100 Metres)
Resuming from a break we are willing to give VENDOME a chance. The three-year-old has had two starts in his career and he ran into some nice types on both occasions without disgracing himself. On debut he ran seventh to Paquirri in the Kindergarten Stakes with Legend Of Condor second. He then placed behind the talented Wagner at Canterbury on Aug 29. Trained by Team Hawkes, the son of O’Reilly has had two trials to prepare him for this. Hard to beat.
1st: No2 VENDOME 2nd: No4 Kylease No; 3rd: No3 Jaytees; 4th: No5 Sir Owen
Gosford Race 2 - 1:50PM Central Coast Motor Group CG&E Class 1 Handicap (1100 Metres)
Hot race but we fancy VEDDER (NEXT BEST) to get the money. Again, this guy is a member of the Team Hawkes barn and had a fantastic first preparation and comes into this race first-up since winning at Gosford back in November. His debut effort three weeks prior was excellent when leading and almost pinching it at Warwick Farm, eventually finishing a narrow second to the smart Roheryn. The gelding led throughout to win a trial on Feb 4. Will press forward from three and be hard to catch.
1st: No1 VEDDER 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No4 Stay Smart; 3rd: No5 Temple Run; 4th: No2 Kanavu
Gosford Race 3 - 2:25PM Signrama Erina/Gosford Benchmark 64 Handicap (1600 Metres)
The John Sargent-trained DEPENDABLE represents a bit of value in this and is a good eachway investment. He finished second last in a field of 11 behind Stryke Rock on the Beaumont track first-up, however, he was last at the 400m and continued to make steady ground. The extra 250m here is a huge plus, as is the booking of Glyn Schofield. Hasn’t missed a place second-up in three attempts. Eachway.
1st: No2 DEPENDABLE 2nd: No1 Chocolatier; 3rd: No7 Moana Marie; 4th: No3 Love Waves
Kyneton Race 3 - 2:30PM bet365 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate (1112 Metres)
SWIRL GIRL has been knocking on the door in her last couple of runs and looks extremely hard to beat in this. The Ellerton & Zahra runner was up on the speed for most of the trip at Geelong and came into it strongly on straightening, however, wound up third to French Fizz beaten less than a length. Hasn’t been far off the mark lately and barrier five will ensure Damien Thornton has her in the firing line throughout.
1st: No8 SWIRL GIRL 2nd: No7 Sweet Deceit; 3rd: No1 Coontara; 4th: No2 Hazie Babe
Gosford Race 4 - 3:05PM Tooheys Maiden Plate (1600 Metres)
This Gary Moore-trained runner was luckless last start when three-wide the trip at Canterbury and is worth another chance. Prior to that BRILLIANT MIND (BEST BET) was tenth to Terminology after not having a great deal go his way in the Magic Millions Maiden on the Gold Coast. Drawn one, the son of So You Think should get a great run in transit and be extremely hard to beat.
1st: No3 BRILLIANT MIND 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No4 Dream Fields; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No6 Heavens Dream; 4th: No9 Keiai Tsubaki
