Wednesday Warwick Farm Racing Previews & Tips - 13th February
Some smart types going around at The Farm today as they look towards a big Autumn carnival campaign.
Warwick Farm has its second consecutive meeting after Saturday’s huge day of racing that saw a strong crowd in attendance. Our top pick is a lightly raced gelding that’s looking to keep the winning groove going after saluting first-up.
Warwick Farm is racing on a Good 4 with the rail +3 entire.
Warwick Farm Race 1 - 1:35PM ANZ Bloodstock News Handicap (1600 Metres)
FINAL AWARD is a lightly raced gelding out of the astute M Newnham stable that will be looking to make it back-to-back victories in today’s opening event of the program. Looked impressive when defeating Amangiri by 1.8 lengths last week on the Kenso, landing a good betting move in the process. Solid claims.
1st: No2 FINAL AWARD 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No1 D’Grammy; 3rd: No5 Helga 4th: No4 Seles
Warwick Farm Race 2 - 2:15PM Sledmere Stud Plate (1200 Metres)
Despite coming up with an awkward barrier, ENOOD looks well placed to break through after finishing runner-up at her two starts to date. Finished less than a length behind Lyre at Sale last start and that form has been franked big time after the winner took out a Prelude of the Blue Diamond last Saturday. Draw only concern.
1st: No7 ENOOD 2nd: No4 Deep Chill; 3rd: No14 Still Single; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No15 Zouriana
Warwick Farm Race 3 - 2:50PM Bowermans Office Furniture Handicap (2400 Metres)
FLUIDITY (NEXT BEST BET) has won his past two starts and now faces her toughest test to date. Looked impressive when defeating Mushroom Rock by 5 lengths two starts back at Gosford to go with another dominant victory at Wyong last start. Big danger.
1st: No5 FLUIDITY 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No1 Dusk Falls; 3rd: No3 Allcash; 4th: No8 Front View
Warwick Farm Race 5 - 4:05PM Inglis Country Highway (1300 Metres)
COMMON PURPOSE (BEST BET) got the bob on the line when defeating Lucand Lad at Canterbury first-up from a 19-week spell and we expect further improvement which makes him the one to beat. Lightly raced gelding with a stack of ability. Top pick.
1st: No3 COMMON PURPOSE 2nd: No2 Gitan; 3rd: No6 Fun Tickets; 4th: No7 Pierino
Warwick Farm Race 6 - 4:45PM Inglis Provincial Highway (1300 Metres)
FRANKELY AWESOME is resuming from a spell but with two solid trials under her belt, we expect her to be competitive first-up here today. Raced in the Group One Spring Champion Stakes at Randwick back in October so the drop in grade definitely suits. Won by three lengths first-up last prep. Will have plenty of followers.
1st: No6 FRANKELY AWESOME 2nd: No1 Ever So Natural; 3rd: No8 Bad Boy For Love; 4th: No10 Burdon Of Proof
Warwick Farm Race 7 - 5:20PM TAB Rewards Handicap (1100 Metres)
Tough race to close the program but we are sticking with LIPS ‘N’ LASHES that’s looking to make it three wins on the trot since resuming from a break. Won well two starts back at Taree defeating Miss Fisher by two lengths and went on and won again, this time at Tamworth, by a length. Maps to be on the speed throughout.
1st: No5 LIPS ‘N’ LASHES 2nd: No1 Jester Angel; 3rd: No2 Verlan; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No9 Ondo Pasa
Warwick Farm Race 4 - 3:25PM Headwater @ Vinery Handicap (1000 Metres)
STEPHAN was nabbed on the post when resuming from a break at Canberra last start and second-up here today sees this gelding the one to beat over the 1000m. Showed form last preparation to be a leading contender. Excels over the distance and looms as the one they all need to beat.
1st: No3 STEPHAN 2nd: No1 Rebel Miss; 3rd: No4 Bangkok; 4th: No5 Witherspoon
