Tuesday Racing Tips - 19th February
There are some handy horses that will carry our cash today including a few from prominent stables.
We kick things off early at Seymour before switching our attention to the latter stages of the Wyong card. Our best of the day comes out of the Kim Waugh barn and is knocking on the door for a win judging by its placing in metro company last time out while our next best bet has some brilliant formlines.
Wyong is a Good 4 with the rail out 2m the entire circuit.
Seymour is racing on a Soft 5 with the rail in the true the entire circuit.
Seymour Race 1 - 1:30PM Avenel Equine Hospital 3YO Maiden Plate (1200 Metres)
This girl should be winning going on her efforts last prep. BLONDE DISPOSITION (NEXT BEST) has only had the four career starts but has run into the brilliant duo of Amphitrite and Mystic Journey in three of those. She ran third on debut to Amphitrite over this distance at Sale on Sep 8 and at her third start, finished a good sixth in the Group Two Edward Manifold behind the same horse. Didn’t do a lot in a recent jumpout but has obvious class.
1st: No2 BLONDE DISPOSITION 2nd: No1 Chamisal; 3rd: No6 First Tier; 4th: No7 Greetie
Seymour Race 2 - 2:00PM Landmark Seymour Maiden Plate (1200 Metres)
The Nigel Blackiston-trained PURE EXCELERATION is a worth a bet as he comes into the race first-up since September. The gelding has had three career runs with the latest of those the most eye-catching, as he sat on the speed and finished second to the talented Tavidance. The winner then placed in Listed company. Showed dash in a recent jumpout and although barrier 11 is a drawback, as he will be back in the field, Ben Allen’s appointment is a tick for us.
1st: No10 PURE EXCELERATION 2nd: No8 General Short; No; 3rd: No12 Theme Park; 4th: No11 Testigo Estrella
Wyong Race 2 - 1:55PM Damien Lane Racing Stables Class 2 Handicap (1000 Metres)
Value play of the day is definitely with CRACKNECK. The Allan Kehoe-trained runner comes into this second-up having never been in the hunt when resuming at Eagle Farm on Feb 2. He ran into Meet Mr Taylor that day that led throughout in record time over 1000m while Crackneck was last at the 400m. Has won second-up in the past and did win his maiden and then a Class 2 back-to-back last prep and that is never easy to do. Small field will suit as he is a backmarker.
1st: No1 CRACKNECK 2nd: No4 Silver Melody; 3rd: No3 Highly Desired; 4th: No2 Partners
Wyong Race 7 - 4:55PM Over The Line Racing Class 1 Handicap (1350 Metres)
BEIDI has the benefit of a drop in grade but has to carry 59kgs. Still, the Chris Waller gelding looks hard to beat after three runs back from a spell. Last start was eighth to Desert Lord on the Kenso which followed a placing to Mollyfied at Warwick Farm. First-up, the gelding was fifth to You Make Me Smile which franked the form by leading throughout at Rosehill last start. Maps to get back in his races but will be coming home hard.
1st: No1 BEIDI 2nd: No2 Lifetime Quest; 3rd: No11 Grand Exit; 4th: No6 Waka
Wyong Race 8 - 5:30PM Wyong Trainers’ Trophy Conditional Benchmark 70 Handicap (1600 Metres)
The Kim Waugh-trained WHITE BOOTS (BEST BET) looks thrown in to this race. The four-year-old will be fitter after a first-up third on the Kenso to Desert Lord where he was three-back the fence and hit the line nicely. Drawn three, Billy Owen should have him in the first four turning for home and his 3kg claim is a massive help. Is a winner second-up previously.
1st: No1 WHITE BOOTS 2nd: No2 Invicta; 3rd: No7 Captain Manering; 4th: No6 Base Camp
