Wednesday Randwick (Kensington) Racing Previews & Tips - 20th February

Great midweek meeting today at Royal Randwick (Kensington) and we expect the leading trainers to dominate the program.

Tue, 19 Feb, 12:00 AM

Looks a solid midweek program at Royal Randwick (Kensington).  Our top pick looked impressive when winning on this track last start and looks extremely hard to beat again. Talented gelding on the rise.

Randwick is racing on a Good 4 with the rail +5m Entire.

R4: 1,2,6,8

R5: 1,5,6,9

R6: 2,3,6,9

R7: 1,4,6,10

Randwick Race 1 - 1:35PM Rise Up This Autumn Handicap (1400 Metres)

*SCRATCHED* MR DEPENDABLE will be hard to beat on his home track in the opening event of the program at Randwick today. This Waterhouse/ Bott-trained gelding finished four lengths behind Final Award on debut when leading before fading away. Will strip fitter second-up and expecting a better effort from him today. Win won’t shock.

1st: *SCRATCHED* No4 MR DEPENDABLE 2nd: No1 Costas; 3rd: No2 Arrogante; 4th: No6 Carif

Randwick Race 2 - 2:15PM TAB Rewards Plate (1100 Metres)

GOT YOUR SIX is another one out of the Waterhouse/Bott barn that was a touch unlucky on debut on this track a fortnight ago. Going off that effort, where she raced on the speed throughout, we expect this filly to prove hard to beat over the1100m. Will stalk the speed and have the last shot at them in the straight. Serious hope.

1st: No9 GOT YOUR SIX 2nd: No6 Line Up Girls; 3rd: No1 Charm Offensive; 4th: No4 Freedom Rock

Randwick Race 3 - 2:50PM Events By ATC Handicap (1000 Metres)

CRISTOBAL is out of the astute Godolphin stable and looks ready to run a big race first-up here today after an 18-week layoff. Did go around in some handy races last preparation with his close third behind Gem Song the pick of them. Can bounce back after two solid trials leading into this.

1st: No2 CRISTOBAL 2nd: No1 Mossman Gorge; 3rd: No4 Chewbacca; 4th: No3 Royal Witness

Randwick Race 4 - 3:25PM ANZ Bloodstock News Handicap (1800 Metres)

CALIBRATION is having his first start for new trainer Chris Waller and going on his previous efforts before the stable change, he will prove hard to beat over the 1800m here today. Will have no issue with the distance with fitness being the key. Can make a big impression here today.  Serious chance.

1st: No6 CALIBRATRION  2nd: No1 King Tomlola; 3rd: No2 Green Sweet; 4th: No8 Another Snappy

Randwick Race 5 - 4:05PM Press Statement @ Vinery Handicap (1550 Metres)

DESERT LORD (BEST BET) looked impressive when winning by 1.8 lengths on this track last start and expecting this gelding to take a power of beating here today. Has the form behind You Make Me Smile who saluted in town last Saturday Drawn to get the run of the race and confident will go close again. Big danger.

1st: No6 DESERT LORD 2nd: No1 Wayanka; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No5 Scratches; 4th: No9 Wine Bush

Randwick Race 6 - 4:45PM Bowermans Office Furniture Handicap (1400 Metres)

Looks a perfect race for LABURNUM (NEXT BEST BET) to make it back-to-back victories after an impressive 1.3 length victory in easier grade at Kembla last start. Returns to a track that he hasn’t had much success on but has always been competitive at and not far from the eventual winner. Looks the testing material.

1st: No3 LABURNUM 2nd:  No2 Bubbles‘n’troubles; 3rd: No6 Romani Girl; 4th: No9 Feather

Randwick Race 7 - 5:20PM Australian Turf Club Handicap (1400 Metres)

ROCK looks ready to ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ in the final event of the program going on his last start victory at Canterbury when chasing hard to get the bob right on the line over the 1250m a wet track. Lightly raced gelding yet to miss a place from his three starts to date. Looks the winner.

1st: No4 ROCK 2nd: No1 Our Mantra; 3rd: No6 Kolding 4th: No10 Intense Force
