Saturday Racing Previews & Tips - Flemington 2nd March

We are going early at Flemington today due to the extreme heat conditions predicted for later on in the afternoon.

Thu, 28 Feb, 12:00 AM

Looks a great program at Flemington with the Australian Guineas taking centre stage. Our top selection for the card goes around early in the day and looks a very promising galloper in the making. Serious horse on the way up.

Flemington is racing on a Good 4 with the rail out 2m entire circuit.

R6: 1,7,9

R7: 4,6,8,11

R8: 4,8,11,14

R9: 1,7,10,14

Flemington Race 1 - 10:55AM Very Special Kids Plate (1000 Metres)

YULONG SAVNGS looked impressive when winning on debut and looks well placed at his first look in city grade. Charged away for an impressive 3.5 length demolition at Bendigo and looks to have a bright future going on that thrashing. Stick.

1st: No2 YULONG SAVINGS; 2nd: No1 Lanigera; 3rd: No6 Mockery; 4th: No4 Dalaalaat

Flemington Race 2 - 11:25AM 3AW Roy Higgins Quality (2600 Metres)

SCHABAU (BEST BET) lightly raced import that’s yet to miss a place from eight starts to date, winning four on the way. Will be looking to make it three wins on the trot after defeating his rivals by a short margin on this track last start. An import with a serious motor.

1st: No5 SCHABAU; 2nd: No2 Naval Warfare; 3rd:*SCRATCHED* No8 Pissaro; 4th: No6 Top Of The Range

Flemington Race 3 - 11:55AM ATA/Bob Hoysted Handicap (1000 Metres)

Small field but a good race. I AM SOMEONE has won his past two starts and going on those victories we are sticking with this in-form gelding to rack up the hat-trick over the 1000m. Excels over the distance and will prove hard to beat. Can win again.

1st: No8 I AM SOMEONE; 2nd: No6 Moonlover; 3rd: No7 She’s So High; 4th: No1 Battle Hero

Flemington Race 4 - 12:25PM Mittys Handicap (1100 Metres)

ISLAND DAZE has drawn wide but the way this mare has been winning of late we expect her to be first past the post yet again. Looked impressive when defeating Dancing Tycoon by a length at Moonee Valley last start to go with a two-length victory at Sandown prior. Winning hope.

1st: No3 ISLAND DAZE; 2nd: No7 Miss Toorak Flyer; 3rd: No8 Beauty; 4th: No6 Khulaasa

Flemington Race 5 - 1:00PM Seppelt Wines Plate (1400 Metres)

AGE OF CHIVARLY is a lightly raced gelding building up an impressive race record. Chased hard to defeat Pick Up The Pieces by just under a length at Sandown last start when settling wide for most of the trip. Did it tough but showed plenty of courage. Serious player.

1st: No6 AGE OF CHIVALRY; 2nd: No2 Master Ash; 3rd: No3 Mr Quickie; 4th: No1 Good ‘n’ Fast

Flemington Race 6 - 1:35PM The TAB Shaftesbury Avenue Handicap (1400 Metres)

GRUNT is a class galloper and a dual Group One winner at this track. Goes okay first-up and did trial well in the lead up to this. Has bigger fish to fry this autumn but is too good to dismiss despite a lack of race fitness and the 61.5kgs. On top for us.

1st: No1 GRUNT; 2nd: No7 Furrion; 3rd: No9 Violate; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No4 Lite’N In My Veins

Flemington Race 7 - 2:10PM Blamey Stakes (1600 Metres)

Sticking with THEANSWERMYFRIEND that ran home strong when finishing a length behind Streets of Avalon on this track last start. Will be fit and ready to fire today and loves racing here with three wins and three placings from the eight starts on it. Win won’t shock.

1st: No11 THEANSWERMYFRIEND; 2nd: No8 Mighty Boss; 3rd: No6 Johannes Vermeer; 4th: No4 Manuel

Flemington Race 8 - 2:45PM Australian Guineas (1600 Metres)

Last start winner AMPHITRITE has drawn to get the run of the race and going on her solid length victory on this track last start she shapes as the one to beat again. Beat Verry Elleegant and Fundamentalist first-up in the Group Three Vanity. Has won second-up previously. Hard to beat.

1st: No14 AMPHITRITE; 2nd: No11 Dealmaker; 3rd: No4 Ringerdingding; 4th: No8 Hawkshot

Flemington Race 9 - 3:20PM Furphy Frances Tressady Stakes (1400 Metres)

CLARICE CLIFFS (NEXT BEST BET) looks perfectly placed to take out the final event of the program at Flemington today. Gave her rivals a galloping lesson when winning by six lengths at Pakenham three weeks back. Has some serious speed and will be ready to rack up the hat-trick. Promising type.

1st: No14 CLARICE CLIFFS; 2nd: No10 Temple Of Bell; 3rd: No7 Sheezdashing; 4th: No1 Aristia
