Thursday Racing Tips - 7th March

Kris Lees is set to have a big day at Port Macquarie and we are banking on his stable to do a job for us.

Top trainer Kris Lees will be carrying our cash at the Port Macquarie card. Our best bet of the day comes out of his stable and is a promising filly on the rise.

Port Macquarie is racing on a Good 4 with the rail +2m entire.

Hamilton is racing on a Good 4 with the rail true.

Port Macquarie Race 1 - 1:10PM Carlton Draught Maiden Plate (1506 Metres)

Can’t see anything upsetting the Kris Lees runner ELGIN in the opening event of the program. Finished half a length behind Be Mindful at Newcastle last start and that form is good enough for this gelding to break through for a much deserved maiden victory. Looks a serious threat.

1st: No1 ELGIN 2nd: No2 Nic And Run; 3rd: No3 Arrogante; 4th: No6 Al Pheroz

Hamilton Race 2 - 2:00PM BET365 Hwgt BM58 Handicap (2200 Metres)

INASTRIDE (NEXT BEST BET) is racing in good form and looks capable of making it back-to-back victories here today. Led and proved too good when defeating Aljamaal by 1.5 lengths at Warrnambool a fortnight ago and will relish the drop back to the 2200m. Will be hard to run down if he gets his own way in front.

1st: No1 INASTRIDE 2nd: No2 Tough Vic 3rd: No4 Ours; 4th: No5 John Monash

Port Macquarie Race 3 - 2:25PM Carlton Mid F&M Maiden Handicap (1206 Metres)

After finishing in the placings at Newcastle last start, RAAY OF TIME (BEST BET) looks hard to beat. Gave the leader about five lengths turning for home first-up but found the line nicely, finishing third beaten just over a length. Will be fitter for that and maps to settle far closer this time around. Top pick.

1st: No2 RAAY OF TIME 2nd: No1 Sfilza; 3rd: No4 Last Ace; 4th: No9 High Flight

Hamilton Race 5 - 3:30PM Hygain Maiden Plate (1200 Metres)

Looks a perfect race for the lightly raced SAMATAR to get his much deserved maiden victory here today. Chased hard in the straight but failed to reel the eventual winner when finishing three lengths behind Day On The Drink at Warrnambool last start. Will look to settle just off the speed and launch at them late. Can run a big race with a good draw.

1st: No4 SAMATAR 2nd: No3 Jack On The Rocks; 3rd: No5 Sandhill Galaxy; 4th: No9 Uno Ruby

Port Macquarie Race 6 - 4:20PM Pure Blonde Benchmark 66 Handicap (1506 Metres)

Winning form is good form and that’s why we are sticking with KOMACHI FORCE to make it three wins on the trot at a track she excels racing over. Chased hard in the straight to defeat Call the Captain here and a repeat of that performance will see her go close to racking up the hat-trick. Has the form - stick with her.

1st: No9 KOMACHI FORCE 2nd: No7 Sarasota Bay; 3rd: No1 More Chilli; 4th: No3 Editors
