Newcastle takes centre stage for the running of their Newmarket Handicap and Godolphin looked primed for another big showing. Despite that, our best of the day comes from south of the border and is a recent winner by 10 lengths! Pay to follow.

Newcastle is racing on a Good 4 with the rail true.

Ararat is racing on a Good 4 with the rail true.

Newcastle Race 1 - 1:50PM Starr Facilities Services 3YO & Up Maiden Handicap (1400 Metres)

Drawn to get the run of the race sees DUNBRODY POWER ready to break through for a much deserved maiden victory in the opening event of the program. Has placed at three of her four starts to date, including last start when third to the talented Mizzy at Canterbury. Two starts back she finished fourth to Terminology in the Magic Millions Maiden. Should be winning this.

1st: No2 DUNBRODY POWER 2nd: No1 Royal Captain; 3rd: No7 City Of Love; 4th: No3 Mustafa

Newcastle Race 3 - 3:05PM Reward Hospitality Newcastle Class 1 & Maiden Plate (2300 Metres)

After giving his rivals a galloping lesson last start, SHAMAN looks perfectly placed to make it back-to-back victories here today. Led and kept running away from his rivals when winning by a huge 7.6 lengths at Gosford a fortnight ago. Hard to go past on latest effort despite stepping up in class.

1st: No5 SHAMAN 2nd: No3 My King’s Counsel; 3rd: No2 Front View; 4th: No6 Diamond Star Halo

Newcastle Race 5 - 4:20PM KAM-COOL Refrigeration Posthaste - Benchmark 78 Handicap (900 Metres)

Despite the awkward draw, hard to go past INVINCIBLE GANGSTA (NEXT BEST BET) over the short 900m here today. Has been racing in great form of late and will appreciate a slightly inferior field to what he has been going up against. Has won twice over the distance previously and Tommy Berry sticks. Ready to win!

1st: No1 INVINCIBLE GANGSTA 2nd: No2 Don’t Tease Me; 3rd: No7 Nick on the Run; 4th: No8 Dream Charge

Ararat Race 8 - 5:00PM Ararat Farm Supplies BM58 Handicap (1300 Metres)

Looking to make it three wins on the trot, CHORUS (BEST BET) is the one they all need to beat here. Looked ultra impressive when winning by 10 lengths two starts back to go with a solid one-length victory at Donald a fortnight back. Has the form and going on the win two starts back on this track, she is the one to beat and the pick of the program.

1st: No7 CHORUS 2nd: No5 Lazy Bear; 3rd: No4 Cool Cool World; 4th: No3 Zoumanor

Newcastle Race 7 - 5:35PM Suez Newcastle Newmarket Hcp [GROUP 3] (1400 Metres)

SAVATIANO is a mare out of the astute Godolphin stable that will be out to improve on her placings in the Group 2 Mille Fox Stakes. The daughter of Street Cry has been ultra consistent and placed in Group Two and Three company in four of her past five starts. Came from well back in the Millie Fox to just miss running down the winner. Loves racing second-up and Blake Shinn is riding like a demon.

1st: No4 SAVATIANO 2nd: No2 Lanciato; 3rd: No1 Siege of Quebec; 4th: No5 Princess Posh
