Wednesday Ipswich Tips - 13th March
A young filly with a bright future is looking for redemption in the opening event today.
*Meeting scheduled for Ipswich on Wednesday 13 March 2019 has been transferred to Doomben.
We are keen to get the job done early and have identified three runners in the opening three races on the card that will be very hard to hold out.
Race 1 - 2:28PM (AEDT) Carlton Mid Qtis Two-Years-Old Fillies Maiden Plate (1200 Metres)
This filly went around as a very costly conveyance last time but we are willing to forgive her that run. Sent out a hot favourite on debut, the Tony Gollan runner powered away down the straight and looked set for a huge win before somehow being run down by Miss Cavallo at Doomben on Feb 27. SUGAR BOOM will definitely improve from the outing and we are going to stick for this one.
1st: No6 SUGAR BOOM 2nd: No1 Bunched; 3rd: No2 Hit Snooze; 4th: No7 Summer Salt
Ipswich Race 2 - 3:03PM (AEDT) Sirromet Qtis Two-Years-Old Colts and Geldings Maiden Plate (1200 Metres)
The Chris Anderson-trained BALLISTIC BOY will create plenty of interest as he makes his race debut here. Won a trial at Doomben at the end of February by 3.25 lengths and is owned by some high profile connections. Worth watching.
1st: No2 BALLISTIC BOY 2nd: No5 Lucky Senator; 3rd: No4 Conquering Judas; 4th: No6 Malo To The Max
Ipswich Race 3 - 3:38PM (AEDT) Schweppes Class 4 Handicap (1666 Metres)
We are prepared to give FOXY AFFAIR another go after he finished third last time out at Doomben. We tipped him on top that day but after enjoying a good run on the speed, he couldn’t pick up in the straight and battled on to finish behind Cymbalism and Emsie Is A Star. Now with two runs under his belt, the Robert Heathcote runner will appreciate the small field and be there at the finish once more.
1st: No3 FOXY AFFAIR 2nd: No2 So You Wish; 3rd: No1 Reiby The Red; 4th: No5 Fast Arli
