Monday Racing Tips - 18th March
Our best of the day comes from Scone and should appreciate dropping a bit of weight for this.
Queanbeyan and Scone are the meetings that today’s selections come from and we are confident they will run well and prove hard to beat. Our top pick is lightly raced and looks to have found the right race to bounce back into the winner’s circle at Scone today.
Queanbeyan is racing on a Good 3 with the rail true.
Scone is racing on a Good 4 with the rail +5m 800m-WP, +3m Remainder.
Queanbeyan Race 1 - 1:30PM J BRITTON Taxis Class 1 & Maiden Plate (1600 Metres)
ZAROMATIC (NEXT BEST BET) is a lightly raced mare that’s yet to miss a place from her four starts to date. Broke her maiden with a solid half a length victory at Wagga two starts back before finishing a length from the winner a fortnight ago. Usually goes forward in her races and we expect the same again today. Solid claims.
1st: No8 ZAROMATIC 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No5 Bossy Rose; 3rd: No1 Badge Of Gameness; 4th: No4 Blackjack Lass
Scone Race 2 - 2:20PM Newgate Maiden Plate (1300 Metres)
TOMBOLO is resuming from a 20-week layoff and with two solid trials under her belt, we expect this four-year-old mare prove hard to beat. Just missed at her only start back in October, narrowly beaten by the talented Legion Of Boom on this track. Key player.
1st: No8 TOMBOLO 2nd: No9 Armina; 3rd: No11 Gallina; 4th: No7 Magic Anna
Scone Race 4 - 3:30PM Yarraman Park Class 1 Handicap (900 Metres)
After winning on debut at Gunnedah, ONE MORE LEGEND (BEST BET) was second in a Class 1 Handicap on the same track last start but can go one better here. Jumped well and sat second throughout as he chased Shot At The Reward the whole way, giving the winner 3.5kgs. Maps to be on the speed drops 2kgs for this and is hard to run down.
1st: No2 ONE MORE LEGEND 2nd: No1 Cash Factor; 3rd: No4 Marokawa; 4th: No8 Cheers Joyce
Scone Race 6 - 4:50PM Arrowfield Benchmark 66 Handicap (1600 Metres)
CHRISTO is a lightly raced galloper that’s placed at all three starts to date, including a 2.5 length victory at Dubbo two starts back. The Cameron Crockett-trained runner chased hard but couldn’t reel in Potent Force last time out. Shows promise and is sure to be thereabouts at the finish. Stick with him.
1st: No10 CHRISTO 2nd: No9 Tokyo Bullet; 3rd: No3 Blinkin Fast; 4th: No5 Ratler
Queanbeyan Race 7 - 5:10PM Homestead Press Benchmark 58 Handicap (1460 Metres)
Sticking with the last start winner MOSSY GIRL to make it back-to-back victories after saluting at Tumut last start. Goes up in grade but is racing well and will prove very competitive. Love the Joe Cleary / Jess Taylor combination. Hard to toss.
1st: No2 MOSSY GIRL 2nd: No4 Fiscal Policy; 3rd: No1 Boys Day Out; 4th: No6 Respun
