Saturday Racing Previews & Tips - Rosehill 23rd March
Golden Slipper Day and the world’s best racehorse – can the day get any better?!
Golden Slipper day has arrived and what an outstanding program we have at Rosehill Gardens today with five Group One races. Our top pick is racing in red hot form and will be surging home late like he always does. Is one of the best horses in Australia and can reel off amazing sectionals.
Rosehill is racing on a Heavy 8 with the rail +3m entire.
Rosehill Race 1 - 12:30PM TAB Birthday Card Stakes (1200 Metres)
RESIN is the one to beat in today’s opening event. We are expecting the Godolphin team to have a big day and kick things off with this mare that is a second-up specialist (2s: 2w). Can handle the wet going too having won three times on Soft and placing on Heavy. Ticks all the boxes.
1st: No2 RESIN 2nd: No1 She Knows; 3rd: No6 Serene Miss; 4th: No3 Avantage
Rosehill Race 2 - 1:10PM Camera House Darby Munro Stakes (1200 Metres)
CLASSIQUE LEGEND gave his rivals a galloping lesson when winning his second start by six lengths at Randwick last time out. Despite rising dramatically in class, this galloper looks the real deal and will be the one they all need to beat. Big future.
1st: No14 CLASSIQUE LEGEND 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No7 Military Zone; 3rd: No6 Wild Planet; 4th: No5 Jonker
Rosehill Race 3 - 1:45PM Irresistible Pools N E Manion Cup (2400 Metres)
Sticking with the topweight BIG DUKE who will relish these conditions and third-up will be ready to go over the 2400m here today. Go on his effort two starts back on this track when charging home to go down by a length behind Red Cardinal, which has since won again. Has the form and loves the wet.
1st: No1 BIG DUKE 2nd: No2 Jaameh; 3rd: No9 Midterm; 4th: No10 Shraaoh
Rosehill Race 4 - 2:25PM Sky Racing Rosehill Guineas (2000 Metres)
THE AUTUMN SUN (BEST BET) is a superstar! This Chris Waller-trained colt has been impressive at his past two starts winning the Randwick Guineas and Hobartville Stakes, reeling off phenomenal sectionals after racing back in the field. Will get back again but will be sweeping over the top once more. He is just too good.
1st: No1 THE AUTUMN SUN 2nd: No2 Madison County; 3rd: No6 Vernanme; 4th: No8 Chapada
Rosehill Race 5 - 3:05PM The Agency George Ryder Stakes (1500 Metres)
WINX, WINX, WINX!!! In what will be her second last race, this once-in-a-lifetime mare is looking to make it 32 straight victories in today’s Group One. Will likely settle back in the field and round them up in the straight. The wet conditions have made her an even greater certainty as she is three for three on Heavy and has five wins from seven starts on Soft. Group One win number 24 coming up!
1st: No4 WINX 2nd: No1 Land Of Plenty; 3rd: No3 So Si Bon; 4th: No8 Ringerdingding
Rosehill Race 6 - 3:45PM Ranvet Stakes (2000 Metres)
AVILIUS will be looking to bounce back after finishing out of the placings in the Group One Australian Cup at Flemington a fortnight ago. Looks perfectly suited here and has won at his only attempt on the track. Is the class horse and looks another one for the Godolphin army. Pay to forgive.
1st: No2 AVILIUS 2nd: No5 He’s Eminent; 3rd: No10 Danzdanzdance; 4th: No6 Night’s Watch
Rosehill Race 7 - 4:30PM Longines Golden Slipper (1200 Metres)
COSMIC FORCE looks hard to beat in the 2019 Golden Slipper. Looked ultra impressive when relishing the wet conditions and taking out the Pago Pago Stakes by a whopping seven lengths. Is on the quick back-up but with the perfect draw (two) he will be in a stalking position and looking to pounce once they straighten. Conditions suit.
1st: No5 COSMIC FORCE 2nd: No2 Microphone; 3rd: No11 Anaheed; 4th: No3 Time To Reign
Rosehill Race 8 - 5:10PM Media Galaxy (1100 Metres)
REDZEL (NEXT BEST BET) chased hard but couldn’t reel in speed machine Ball Of Muscle first-up in the Challenge Stakes at Randwick a fortnight ago but he will be fitter for that. Won’t have any issue on a wet track - remember what he did to win his second Everest on the Heavy surface? Look for him to settle near the speed and be hard to run down. Ready to bounce back.
1st: No1 REDZEL 2nd: No3 Pierata; 3rd: No4 Nature Strip; 4th: No8 Viridine
Rosehill Race 9 - 5:45PM E-GROUP Security Epona Stakes (1900 Metres)
SEMARI has won her past two starts and will be out to make it a hat-trick of victories in the final event of what’s been a glorious day of racing. Led and held on at Moonee Valley last start defeating Tahnee Tiara by the short margin. Drawn well and will take plenty of catching.
1st: No8 SEMARI 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No10 Futooh; 3rd: No3 All Too Soon; 4th: No2 Karavali
