Wednesday Seymour Tips - 27th March
Follow the big names and get the cash – it’s that simple!
We are preparing to forgive a few runners at today’s Seymour card. Our three best bets on the program all feature within the first half of the program and are from some well-known stables such as James Cummings, Hayes and Ellerton & Zahra.
Seymour is racing on a Soft 5 with the rail in the true position.
Seymour Race 1 - 12:00PM Landmark Seymour 2YO Maiden Plate (1000 Metres)
We are prepared to give MUIRON another chance. The colt started a long odds-on favourite at Ballarat on March 11 and after leading, compounded to run seventh behind Soul Patch. Showed a great deal of speed on debut and from barrier two, Daniel Stackhouse is likely to take him to the top again. The shorter trip plays to his advantage.
1st: No15 MUIRON 2nd: No1 Abiding; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No9 Flirting; 4th: No14 Swiftness
Seymour Race 2 - 12:30PM Mangalore Park 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate (1000 Metres)
One of the more interesting runners on the card is *SCRATCHED* LIANNE which is resuming from a break. Finished second on debut (should’ve won!) and then unlucky in two starts prior to going for a spell. Mixed it with some handy gallopers last prep including My Pendant.
1st: *SCRATCHED* No5 LIANNE 2nd: No9 Oh Cecilia; 3rd: No6 Miss Trouble Maker; 4th: No2 Billabong Bilby
Seymour Race 4 - 1:30PM JBL Catering Maiden Plate (1600 Metres)
We are backing WESTON SUPER MARE to break her maiden status here. Out of the astute Hayes, Hayes & Dabernig stable, she has run three placings from as many starts since resuming from a spell. Last start she tracked the winner three-wide into the race but couldn’t match Vigere in the straight, going down by 3.5l. She did beat the rest of the field easily enough and this race looks her chance to go one better.
1st: No9 WESTON SUPER MARE 2nd: No3 Havaduel; 3rd: No1 Lord Harry; 4th: No7 Queen Guinevere
