Saturday Racing Previews & Tips - Rosehill 30th March

Another super meeting at Rosehill today with eight Group races including two Group Ones to round out the Golden Slipper Carnival.

Thu, 28 Mar, 12:00 AM

Rosehill backs up after a sensational Golden Slipper day last Saturday. A total of eight Group races on the program including two top-shelf races – the Vinery and Tancred. Our top pick is dropping back to mares company after going around in the All-Star Mile at Flemington last start. The one to beat.

Rosehill is racing on a Soft 7 with the rail +6m entire.

R6: 1,3,8,11

R7: 1,3,12,13

R8: 2,3,7

R9: 9,10

Rosehill Race 1 - 12:30PM The Schweppervescence (1400 Metres)

BELLEVUE HILL was an emergency in the Golden Slipper last week and didn’t get a crack but looks hard to beat in the opening event of the program. Finished half a length behind Yes Yes Yes in the Todman Stakes earlier in the month to go with his five-length victory in the Black Opal preview at Canberra. Perfectly placed and tough to beat.

1st: No1 BELLEVUE HILL 2nd: No3 Le Tene; 3rd: No2 Strasbourg; 4th: No5 Fortress Command

Rosehill Race 2 - 1:10PM Bisley Workwear Neville Sellwood Stakes (2000 Metres)

GOATHLAND has drawn to get the run of the race and can bounce back after finishing in the placings on this track in the Group 3 Sky High Stakes over the 2000m last start, beaten by 1.5 lengths. Expect him to settle just behind the speed and if the gaps appear in the straight, look out as he will be storming home. Can handle the wet. Key player.

1st: No8 GOATHLAND 2nd: No2 Moss ‘n’ Dale; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No1 Harlem; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No6 Emperor’s Way

Rosehill Race 3 - 1:50PM TAB Tulloch Stakes (2000 Metres)

Can’t see anything upsetting MADISON COUNTY that caught the eye at his debut on Australian soil in the Group One Randwick Guineas last time out. Came from the rear to hit the line hard when fourth to champion colt The Autumn Sun. Excels on a wet track and will be the one coming home with a wet sail.

1st: No1 MADISON COUNTY 2nd: No2 In A Twinkling; 3rd: No4 Cossetot; 4th: No9 Carif

Rosehill Race 4 - 2:30PM Jim Beam Emancipation Stakes (1500 Metres)

*SCRATCHED* ALIZEE (BEST BET) is the one to beat! Can atone for her placing in the All-Star Mile at Flemington a fortnight back when she got too far back and weaved between runners to finish 1.2 lengths behind Mystic Journey. Is back racing against her own sex and has the form to give this an almighty shake. Top pick.

1st: *SCRATCHED* No1 ALIZEE 2nd: No4 Noire; 3rd: No8 Dyslexic; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No9 Naantali

Rosehill Race 5 - 3:10PM E-GROUP Security Star Kingdom Stakes (1200 Metres)

Second-up and with the perfect draw, *SCRATCHED* TREKKING is the one to beat in today’s Group Three over the 1200m. Chased hard when just finishing outside the placings on this track in the Maurice McCarten Stakes a fortnight back and the extra 100m is ideal so expect to see him finishing over the top of his rivals. Winning hope.

1st: *SCRATCHED* No8 TREKKING 2nd: No4 Ardrossan; 3rd: No1 Manuel; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No7 Brave Song

Rosehill Race 6 - 3:50PM Vinery Stud Stakes (2000 Metres)

VERRY ELLEEGANT was brilliant last start and the one they have to catch in this. Gave her rivals a galloping lesson when winning by 3.5 lengths in the Group Two Phar Lap Stakes over 1500m. Has drawn well, and with her explosive turn of foot, should see her going close to take out the feature. Ticks all the boxes.

1st: No3 VERRY ELLEEGANT 2nd: No1 Nakeeta Jane; 3rd: No8 Pohutukawa; 4th: No11 Scarlet Dream

Rosehill Race 7 - 4:30PM KIA Tancred Stakes (2400 Metres)

AVILIUS is on the quick back-up after winning the Ranvet a week ago but nothing suggests he isn’t on track to go back-to-back. Showed his blip in the Australian Cup was off character with a huge finishing burst last week. Is unbeaten in Sydney and should continue the James Cummings / Godolphin feature race winning spree. Will get back has an explosive finish on him.

1st: No1 AVILIUS 2nd: No3 Red Cardinal 3rd: No12 Brimham Rocks 4th: No13 Ace High

Rosehill Race 8 - 5:10PM PFD Food Services Doncaster Prelude (1500 Metres)

KAONIC chased hard when just missing the placings on this track in the Group 2 Ajax Stakes a fortnight ago and can bounce back here. Will be rock hard fit and ready to peak third-up. Maps to get back in the field so if they are making ground, expect this bloke to be in the thick of things. Stick with him.

1st: No7 KAONIC 2nd: No3 Tom Melbourne; 3rd No2 Siege of Quebec; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No8 Seaway

Rosehill Race 9 - 5:45PM The Championships On Sale Handicap (1400 Metres)

*SCRATCHED* RENEWAL chased hard to get the bob on the line when defeating Piracy at Randwick a month back and will be fresh and ready to go for this. Expect him to settle near the rear and be saved for one big crack at them in the straight. Hoping Avdulla can weave his magic in the last.

1st: *SCRATCHED* No8 RENEWAL 2nd: No9 Spring Charlie; 3rd: No10 Star Of The Sea; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No2 Take It Intern
