We have found three really good chances for the Doomben meeting today. Two of those feature in the early part of the card with one in particular ready to break its maiden after finishing second to a potential star last time out.

Doomben is racing on a Soft 5 with the rail out 9.5 metres the entire course.

Doomben Race 2 - 2:18PM (AEDT) Brisbane Racing Carnival 2019 QTIS Two-Years-Old Handicap (1350 Metres)

Can HIT SNOOZE make it three straight wins? We certainly think so as she is likely to lead and give this field something to chase. Has led throughout at double-figure odds at her past two starts at Doomben and Eagle Farm and has been slugged at the weights here (58kgs) because of that. The distance is ideal. Can win again.

1st: No1 HIT SNOOZE 2nd:  No5 Shooting Love; 3rd: No2 Fa Fa; 4th: No4 Don’t Waiver

Doomben Race 4 - 3:28PM (AEDT) TAB Qtis Three-Years-Old Colts and Geldings Maiden Plate (1110 Metres)

VEGA ONE looks as though he will be breaking his maiden at career start number nine. The gelding has gone around in some top races so far in his career, however, has fallen just short on most occasions. He comes into this as a beaten odds-on favourite when second to Millard Reaction on March 13, with that horse franking the form with a stunning win last Saturday. Gets his chance.

1st: No12 VEGA ONE 2nd:  No1 Brahma Armour; 3rd: No4 Hard Yaga; 4th: No7 Lotza

Doomben Race 7 - 5:13PM (AEDT) Weddings at BRC BM65 Handicap (1650 Metres)

Talented filly BELLE ROC looks set to get back in the winner's circle. She comes into this off a close fifth to Benfica Princess in Saturday metro company a fortnight back, coming from a mile back to finish less than two lengths from the winner. Maps to get back in the field but is drawn one so may be a bit closer than usual. Gives away age to her rivals being a three-year-old but has obvious ability.

1st: No5 BELLE ROC 2nd:  No6 Sornja; 3rd: No3 Red Phantom; 4th: No2 Napoleon’s War
