Sunday Racing Tips - 7th April
We have found a few key runners going around at Mornington and Echuca that we are banking on to get us the cash.
We have identified a few key players at Mornington and Echuca to finish this fantastic weekend of racing around the country. Our top pick fended off all challenges when winning at Terang last start and looks poised to go close once again. Rated to win.
Mornington is racing on a Good 4 with the rail out 7m entire circuit.
Echuca is a Good 4 with the rail true.
Echuca Race 1 - 1:25PM Hygain 2YO Maiden Plate (1100 Metres)
Tony McEvoy has a nice colt in the name of MR DEADLINE (NEXT BEST BET). Looks perfectly placed to take out the opening event of the program at Echuca after finishing third on debut at Seymour a fortnight back. Finished hard to be beaten less than a length in a tight finish and second-up with race experience under his belt we expect him to fire and break through. The one to beat.
1st: No1 MR DEADLINE 2nd: No2 Sacramento; 3rd: No4 Testino; 4th: No7 Chokita
Echuca Race 4 - 3:15PM Think Water Echuca BM58 Handicap (1400 Metres)
The unlucky TOO HOT TO HANDLE looks well placed to get the victory he deserves after placings at his past two starts. Been up for a long preparation and hasn’t tasted success since June last year but with any in running today over the 1400m we expect this gelding to go close. Did place on this track two starts back, beaten half a length behind Predecessor. Win won’t shock.
1st: No3 TOO HOT TO HANDLE 2nd: No1 Bonville; 3rd: No4 Johnny Handsome; 4th: No6 Love In The City
Mornington Race 5 - 3:25PM Steller Handicap (1200 Metres)
Lightly raced Robbie Griffiths-trained filly FIDELIA is resuming from a 30-week layoff and going on her recent trials, she will take a power of beating here today. Finished just out of the placings in the Group 3 Quezette Stakes at Caulfield back in August last year and if she brings that form here today, expect her competitors to be fighting for second spot. Rates highly.
1st: No1 FIDELIA 2nd: No2 De Little Sister; 3rd: No4 Vivi Valentina 4th: No7 Ready To Romance
Mornington Race 6 - 3:55PM Musk Creek Farm Handicap (1000 Metres)
Hard to go past the consistent ALUF (BEST BET) that’s racing in great form of late and looks ready to measure up to these here today. Fought on bravely when defeating Grogans Anvil by a narrow margin at Terang a fortnight ago and in this small field we expect him to be very competitive. Excels over the distance and did win his only start on this track early on in his career. Ticks all the boxes.
1st: No2 ALUF 2nd: No1 Ultimate Shock; 3rd: No6 Grogans Anvil; 4th: No4 Endow
Mornington Race 8 - 4:55PM Mornington Car & Tyre Services Handicap (1500 Metres)
Sticking with MR GRIZZLE that’s third-up from a break and should be peaking for this. Chased hard in the straight to just miss out on a placing when beaten by less than a length in a blanket finish behind Chavuman. Look for this galloper to settle midfield or worse and be saved for one crack at them in the straight. Possesses a good turn of foot.
1st: No3 MR GRIZZLE 2nd: No1 Candescence; 3rd: No2 Supergrass; 4th: No5 Penthouse Kitten
