Wednesday Gosford Racing Previews & Tips - 10th April
Solid metropolitan meeting at Gosford and we have identified a few runners in form and ready to strike.
Gosford takes centre stage for a solid card of midweek racing but don’t be fooled – there are Saturday class horses going around here! Our top pick is a lightly raced filly that looks to have a bright future ahead. Ready to fire and should give them something to catch.
Gosford is racing on a Soft 6 with the rail True.
Gosford Race 1 - 12:50PM ECO Bunker@Turfcareaus Handicap (1600 Metres)
Can’t see anything upsetting the Chris Waller-trained ACHONDRITE that will be fourth-up and ready to fire. Finished less than a length behind Taj last start and will be out to atone that narrow defeat. Rates highly.
1st: No2 ACHONDRITE 2nd: No1 Flying Legend; 3rd: No5 Aurman Zou 4th: No6 Amami
Gosford Race 2 - 1:25PM Syngenta Provaunt Plate (1200 Metres)
The “Blue Army” looks hard to beat with their colt JETSKI looking to break through for his maiden victory third-up here today. Finished in the placings when beaten by just over a length at Hawkesbury behind Dresden Green a fortnight back and in this race, he looks ready to win. Key player.
1st: No5 JETSKI 2nd: No7 Olympic; 3rd: No10 Badia; 4th: No6 Lubuk
Gosford Race 3 - 2:00PM Bayer Exteris Stressgard Handicap (1200 Metres)
MOLLYFIED has won her past two starts and resuming from a seven-week layoff, she looks a major player here today in the form she’s currently in. Led and just held on when defeating Lady Elizabeth by the slender margin at Canterbury mid-February when lumping the grandstand. Stick with her.
1st: No1 MOLLYFIED 2nd: No2 Alart; 3rd: No3 Ellie’s Encore 4th: No5 Koonunga
Gosford Race 4 - 2:35PM ICL TRI Smart Handicap (1200 Metres)
KYLEASE (BEST BET) is a lightly raced filly that’s shown to have a stack of ability going on her two victories from the three starts to date. Led and fended off all challengers when beating All Sassitude by 1.3 lengths on the Kenso on March 1. Won a trial by two lengths in preparation for this. Will take a power of beating. Top rated!
1st: No6 KYLEASE 2nd: No3 Belladeel; 3rd: No1 Reginae; 4th: No5 Bring The Magic
Gosford Race 5 - 3:10PM Turfculture Impala Fungicide Handicap (1900 Metres)
MAKDANIFE is racing in good form of late and with the good draw, we expect this Chris Waller-trained gelding to take a power of beating over the 1900m here today. Stable must be confident dropping him back from a 2400m event where he finished less than a length behind the winner last time out. Stick with him.
1st: No5 MAKDANIFE 2nd: No1 Foreign Territory; 3rd: No7 Seababe; 4th: No3 Wine Bush
Gosford Race 6 - 3:45PM Turfcare Australia Handicap (1600 Metres)
WHITE BOOTS (NEXT BEST BET) is the one they all need to beat going on the way this gelding has been racing of late. Back from a three-week break when finish 2.3 lengths behind Supernova at Rosehill. This looks much better suited event which should see him bounce back into the winner’s circle. Top hope.
1st: No5 WHITE BOOTS 2nd: No4 Bastia; 3rd: No2 Got Unders; 4th: No8 Invicta
Gosford Race 7 - 4:20PM Dr Joe Vargas Handicap (1200 Metres)
MILITARY ZONE is a lightly raced gelding out of the astute Peter Snowden stable that’s first-up since December with two solid trials under his belt leading into this. Drawn a tad wide but maps to get back in the field anyway. Won the Gosford Guineas last time out. Must be considered.
1st: No4 MILITARY ZONE 2nd: No3 Star Of Monsoon; 3rd: No1 Piracy; 4th: No11 No Escape
Gosford Race 8 - 4:55PM Floratine Foliars Handicap (1100 Metres)
QUEEN ABLAZE is a lightly raced gelding that’s ready to make a big impression in the final event of the program at Gosford today. Settled midfield and peeled wide in the straight to overpower her rivals when winning by a short margin at Muswellbrook last start. A galloper in form and ready to rock.
1st: No11 QUEEN ABLAZE 2nd: No9 Difficult to Get; 3rd: No3 Bella Vella; 4th: No7 The Pharoah
