Monday Racing Tips - 15th April
Our best of the day is a maiden galloper that can do work and tough it out at the finish.
We kick off the week by focusing on Grafton and Seymour. We are tipping Jon Grisedale will have a big day on the Grafton card and have tipped two of his rides while our best of the day is from Seymour and did a power of work last start. Can win with a bit of luck.
Grafton is racing on a Good 4 with the rail out 4.5 the entire circuit.
Seymour is racing on a Soft 5 with the rail out 4m the entire circuit.
Grafton Race 1 - 12:40PM Exclusive Trophies Benchmark 66 Handicap (2230 Metres)
The gelding has been up for a while but is racing in good form. TAKARAKKA (NEXT BEST) comes into this off the back of a handy fifth at Doomben to Sir Barnabus last time out. He likes to race close to the speed so expect Jon Grisedale to take him forward and put him into the contest.
1st: No5 TAKARAKKA 2nd: No1 Meteorologist; 3rd: No2 I’ll Miss You; 4th: No8 The Zoff
Seymour Race 1 - 1:30PM Parker Bros. Earthmoving Maiden Plate (1100 Metres)
Not much went right for DATASET (BEST BET) last start and he will be far better for that outing. Got stuck carting the field up to the tearaway leader at Wodonga on March 30 but still had the audacity to hit the front midway down the stretch. Only grabbed late by Another Prince and He’s Innocent. Sticks to 1100m maps to go forward from barrier seven. Give another go.1st: No4 DATASET 2nd: No10 Madam St Clair; 3rd: No5 The Ticketman; 4th: No3 Angel’s Voice
Grafton Race 3 - 1:55PM Valley Protective Services F&M Maiden Handicap (1115 Metres)
TYCOON ANNA was a little unlucky not to have won on debut and gets the chance to go one better here. Finished a narrow second to Hot Scene over 800m at Coffs Harbour in late December after chasing the speed throughout. Had she got out a touch earlier she would’ve won. Jon Grisedale takes the ride from barrier eight and if she is anywhere fit enough we think she can get the money. Extremely good value at present!
1st: No1 TYCOON ANNA 2nd: No7 Oyashio Drift; 3rd: No2 Campari Soda; 4th: No9 Texas Target
Grafton Race 4 - 2:35PM Prestige Wedding & Event Hire Class 2 Handicap – Heat of the Rising Star (1420 Metres)
The Wayne Sutton-trained PORTUGUESE TART is dropping back in class and looks a big chance in this. Went around in a qualifier of the Provincial Championships last time out when fifth to the talented La Scopa, who would start odds-on in a race like this. Prior to that had a win and place at the Gold Coast. In form and although gets back in her races, watch for her to come home hard in the straight.
1st: No3 PORTUGUESE TART 2nd: No4 Gold Skye; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No13 Chavo; 4th: No9 Real Time Warrior
Seymour Race 4 - 3:00PM G&S O’Sullivan builders F&M Maiden Plate (1600 Metres)
Having a complete throw at the stumps with *SCRATCHED* DEMAND ATTENTION. The three-year-old is on debut and is bred to be a superstar. By Starspangledbanner out of Makybe Diva, the filly has had two trials over short distances in Sydney so it is interesting that Chris Waller has chosen to start her south of the border. The mile may see her go better than she has at the recent trials. Worth a bet but you would want some value.
1st: *SCRATCHED* No5 DEMAND ATTENTION 2nd: No8 Kiss And Cry; 3rd: No11 Secret Embrace; 4th: No7 Harlin Express
