Wednesday Warwick Farm Racing Previews & Tips - 1st May

A strong midweek card at Warwick Farm has thrown up a few nice horses worth following after some good recent performances.

Tue, 30 Apr, 00:00

Warwick Farm host another solid mid-week meeting with a few last start winners looking to keep their wining form continuing. Our top pick is a member of the Chris Waller stable that now has a taste for success after breaking through for that elusive maiden win last time out. Big chance to go back-to-back.

Warwick Farm is racing on a Good 4 with the rail True.

Warwick Farm Race 1 - 12:45PM Casino Prince @ Vinery Handicap (1200 Metres)

DIAMOND THUNDER looked ultra-impressive defeating Rammstein by 1.7 lengths at Hawkesbury to break his maiden and going on the way he powered to the line, we expect him to prove hard to beat in the opening event of the program. Drawn a tad wide but looks to have some class. Key player.

1st: No1 DIAMOND THUNDER 2nd:  No2 Hulk; 3rd: No5 Rigel 4th: *SCRATCHED* No8 Born to Play

Warwick Farm Race 2 - 1:20PM The Agency Real Estate Handicap (1200 Metres)

The Team Hawkes-trained mare MONTRACHET is resuming from a 22-week layoff but with a solid trial under her belt, expect this mare to be ready to fire first-up. Did win and race in some handy races last preparation. Should be too smart for this lot.

1st: No1 MONTRACHET 2nd:  No2 Leami Astray; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No4 My Maher; 4th: No6 One Fire Beach

Warwick Farm Race 3 - 1:55PM Events By ATC Plate (1100 Metres)

EMBRACER is a colt having his first start and being out of the Waterhouse/Bott stable, he will be ready to fire at his debut over the 1100m. Has won two from three trials leading into this and showed plenty of early speed in those. Will prove hard to catch.

1st: No2 EMBRACER 2nd:  No1 Cops And Robbers; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No7 Madam Oaks 4th: No3 Hostwin Supreme

Warwick Farm Race 4 - 2:35PM ANZ Bloodstock News Handicap (1300 Metres)

ZOUOLOGIST (BEST BET) has drawn to get the run of the race and will be looking to make it back-to-back victories after saluting first-up on this track a fortnight back. Proved too good for his rivals when defeating Royal Captain by 1.5 lengths and will strip fitter second-up and take a power of beating here today. Winning form is good form!

1st: No1 ZOUOLOGIST 2nd:  No2 Plenty; 3rd: No7 Glamour Cat; 4th: No6 Singing Sand

Warwick Farm Race 5 - 3:10PM TAB Rewards Handicap (2110 Metres)

CARIF looks the one in this race. Finished 4.3 lengths behind The Chosen One at Randwick in the Group 3 Frank Packer Plate last start and back in grade this colt will be very competitive. Serious player and can’t see him being beaten on recent efforts.

1st: No2 CARIF 2nd:  No3 Resort; 3rd: *SCRATCHED* No5 Dream Builder; 4th: No4 Heartlet

Warwick Farm Race 6 - 3:50PM Saxon Warrior @ Coolmore Mile (1600 Metres)

RESTRAINED is a three-year-old gelding out of the astute Godolphin stable that’s found a very winnable race over the mile here today. Chased hard when filling in the placings here last start, beaten by 1.7 lengths behind Mushaireb. Expect him to settle midfield or worse and be saved for one big crack at them in the straight. Has a good turn of foot.

1st: No2 RESTRAINED 2nd:  No1 Tahsin; 3rd: No4 Jazzland; 4th: No6 Mystic Hill

Warwick Farm Race 7 - 4:25PM Australian Turf Club Handicap (1200 Metres)

RONSTAR (NEXT BEST BET) is the one they all need to beat in the final event. Lightly raced and very consistent, this Gary Portelli runner is ready to atone its narrow defeat behind Invictus Salute on this track a fortnight back. Likes to push forward at the start and should be thereabouts at the finish.

1st: No1 RONSTAR 2nd:  No2 Tchaikovsky; 3rd: No4 Bringagem; 4th: No8 Up Trumpz
