Saturday Racing Previews & Tips - Eagle Farm 25th May

The Brisbane Winter Carnival continues and we have found a few fancies to bookend what looks to be a great day on the punt!

Thu, 23 May, 12:00 AM

The Group One Kingsford-Smith Cup is the highlight of today’s racing at Eagle Farm and we think Godolphin will continue their feature race pillage this season. Our best of the day though comes nice and early and was an impressive winner during The Championships. This guy can win again!

Eagle Farm is racing on a Good 4 with the rail True.

R6: 1,2,3,6

R7: 2,5,9,11

R8: 6,12,15

R9: 2,4,6,10

Eagle Farm Race 1 - 11:10AM KIRIN BENCHMARK 90 Handicap (1200 Metres)

NOBLE BOY (BEST BET) looks a moral to take the first event on a massive day at Eagle Farm. This exciting gelding hasn’t raced since winning the Country Championships Final at Randwick in early April but enjoys racing fresh. If fit enough, he wins.

1st: No6 NOBLE BOY 2nd: No7 Ef Troop; 3rd: No4 Bel Burgess; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No2 Petrology

Eagle Farm Race 2 - 11:45AM LED Superscreens Class 6 Handicap (1400 Metres)

Looking for some value in a very open event and sticking with last start winner SOFIE’S GOLD CLASS to make it back-to-back victories in tougher grade than she faced last start on this track. Has drawn wide so look for her to settle near the rear and be saved for one crack at them in the straight. Eachway hope.

1st: No14 SOFIE’S GOLD CLASS 2nd: No10 The Avenger; 3rd No8 Cruze; 4th: No11 Final Zero

Eagle Farm Race 3 - 12:20PM Mullins Grand Prix Stakes (2200 Metres)

LORD ARTHUR is a NZ galloper having his first start on Australian soil and going on his last start victory back in April, he can prove hard to beat on his debut across the Tasman. Has drawn well and reports suggest he has settled in well to his new stable. Win won’t shock.

1st: No8 LORD ARTHUR 2nd: No9 Bobby Dee; 3rd: No1 Grinzinger Star; 4th: No2 A Man To Match

Eagle Farm Race 4 - 12:55PM Grinders Coffee Roasters Stakes (1300 Metres)

QUILISTA is perfectly placed to make it successive victories here today. Looked a class above her rivals when defeating Test The World by 3.5 lengths at Doomben a fortnight back and just needs to bring that form to the table here today to be a wining hope. Maps to find the front yet again.

1st: No4 QUILISTA 2nd: No6 Sexy Eyes; 3rd: No11 Platinum Angel; 4th: No8 Savatiano

Eagle Farm Race 5 - 1:35PM Ascot Green Lord Mayor’s Cup (1600 Metres)

TOM MELBOURNE has a knack of finishing second but today’s the day this ever-consistent gelding breaks back into the winners circle. Finished less than a length behind Archedemus at Doomben last start and with that run under his belt he is the one they all need to beat. Will be thereabouts at the finish and Blake Shinn is ridding sensationally at the moment.

1st: No1 TOM MELBOURNE 2nd: No3 Cellarman; 3rd: No5 Le Juge; 4th: No7 Duca Valentinos

Eagle Farm Race 6 - 2:15PM Kirin BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400 Metres)

Sticking with the Chris Waller-trained ACCESSION to bounce back second-up here today. Narrowly beaten behind Stronger in the GP3 Ken Russell Memorial on the Gold Coast a fortnight ago and brings good form into a race that looks perfect for him. Respect.

1st: No1 ACCESSION 2nd: No3 Czarson; 3rd: No2 Strasbourg; 4th: No6 Disruptor

Eagle Farm Race 7 - 2:55PM Eva Air Premier’s Cup (2200 Metres)

Looking to rack up the hat-trick of victories, THE LORD MAYOR looks hard to go past in today’s Premiers Cup over the 2200m. Proved too smart for his rivals at the Gold Coast a fortnight ago when defeating Vaucluse Bay by a length to go with a victory at Toowoomba the start prior. Look for him to be coming home down the straight hard and fast.

1st: No5 THE LORD MAYOR 2nd: No2 Haripour; 3rd No9 Our Libretto; 4th: No11 Igraine

Eagle Farm Race 8 - 3:35PM TAB Kingsford-Smith Cup (1300 Metres)

Drawn to get the run of the race and racing in superb form, TREKKING looks well placed to take out today’s Group One over the 1300m. Looked impressive when getting the job done at Scone last start to go with a Group Three victory at Randwick the start prior. Will be rock hard fit and looms as the one they all need to beat. Key player.

1st: No6 TREKKING 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No7 Home of The Brave; 3rd: No15 Irithea; 4th: No12 I Am Excited

Eagle Farm Race 9 - 4:15PM Nuturf Fred Best Classic (1400 Metres)

VEGA ONE (NEXT BEST BET) has returned from a spell in fine fashion and has been a model of consistency. Gave his rivals a galloping lesson when winning by 3.2 lengths at Doomben last start at going on that runaway victory, he is the one they need to beat. Looking to make it back-to-back wins for the first time in his career but this former Sydneysider looks to be appreciating life under Tony Gollan in Queensland. Will take a power of beating.

1st: No6 VEGA ONE 2nd: No10 Agassi; 3rd: No4 Zoutori; 4th: No2 Military Zone
