Monday Racing Tips - 24th June
Brett Partelle is set for a big day out while Kris Lees and Anthony Freedman could also help punters get off on the right foot.
The majority of our tips come from the Scone card where we are tipping it’s going to be a fat day out for trainer Brett Partelle. Our best of the day though comes out of the Kris Lees yard and was ultra impressive in breaking her maiden. We have also found one to follow in the opener from Wangaratta where Anthony Freedman could have a handy one on his books.
Scone is racing on a Good 4 with the rail +5m the entire circuit.
Wangaratta is racing on a Heavy 8 with the rail true the entire circuit.
Wangaratta Race 1 - 12:00pm Ledger Racing 2YO Maiden Plate (1170 Metres)
Anthony Freedman’s LAKE’S FOLLY is worth an investment in the opener from Wangaratta. The gelding finished third in a recent trial at Werribee after sitting outside the leader and was beaten less than a length by Triton Rising, which admittedly was the better run in the hitout. Triton Rising then ran third on debut at Sandown in Saturday metro company the other week after being sensationally backed behind Can’t Be Done and King Of Hastings. Worth a ticket in an open affair.

Scone Race 1 - 12:20pm Segenhoe Stud Maiden Plate (1100 Metres)
Reckon we have found one at nice odds to kick things off at Scone in the form of MADAM ILITHYIA. The Brett Partelle-trained runner hasn’t been seen since finishing fifth to the handy Walk The Runaway at Gosford in early January and that horse has since gone on to midweek metro company. This filly had finished a narrow second to Vinci Lady at Gosford the start prior. Warmed up for this with a handy second in a Gosford trial. Maps to get back and if there is speed on, is capable of finishing right over the top. Eachway.

Scone Race 2 - 12:55pm Yarraman Park Maiden Handicap (900 Metres)
Tipping Brett Partelle will take out the first two races at Scone and in this race the money is already on RIFLES. This debutant opened around the $4 mark with most corporates and is now a dominant favourite at $2.60 with TAB. Has won successive trials at Wyong in preparation for this. Gets Aaron Bullock aboard and from gate four should be prominent throughout. Where there’s smoke there is fire!

Scone Race 4 - 2:10pm Coolmore Benchmark 58 Handicap (1600 Metres)
SUNDAY SWINDLER looks as our value play of the day. Trained by Ben Hill at Wyong, this gelding has had two runs back from a spell and although unplaced in those has shown something to suggest he can fire here. Found the line okay when fifth in harder company at Gosford on June 13 when working out of the gates early but being shuffled back mid-race. Drawn three, Stacey Metcalfe claims 1.5kgs which is a bonus and the pair should be up on the speed. The extra 400m looks to suit.
1st: No4 SUNDAY SWINDLER 2nd: *SCRATCHED* No5 True Finesse; 3rd: No2 Coolaminyah Kid; 4th: No10 Onemore Prince
Scone Race 5 - 2:45pm Emirates Park Class 1 Handicap (900 Metres)
Cannot go past ZANIAH (BEST BET) who was brilliant in winning her maiden at Taree on June 7. Led throughout to win by nearly 3.5 lengths over the 1000m and the drop back in distance is right up her alley. Comes into this second-up for Kris Lees so she will be fitter for her last outing. Does step up in class and faces a few handy ones but we think there is plenty of upside to this girl. Will lead and take running down.
1st: No4 ZANIAH 2nd: No2 North; 3rd: No3 Apache Dude; 4th: *SCRATCHED* No5 Dizzy Miss Lizzy
